We went up into the mountain for our morning walk again today. Right at the very beginning, she found an abandoned flower pot that she just had to check out. She was busily sniffing it over when Noodle ambled over. I assumed he wanted to check out the flower pot as well as he often uses Cookie as a scout for interesting upcoming smell sites. But, no...he hadn't even noticed her there. Instead, he decided that a weed desperately needed his stamp of approval and hiked his leg and started peeing...without noticing that Cookie was on the other side of the weed. I said his name and jerked back on what I thought was his leash...but turned out to be Cookie's leash...so basically, I yanked her further into her golden shower. Noodle then saw her and lowered his leg immediately and shot me a dirty look, clearly blaming ME. Cookie didn't know why I was laughing and scolding Sir N at the same.

*sigh* Then for the rest of the walk, we had to keep all the friendly people who wanted to pet Cookie at a distance because I had no idea how to explain in Korean that she was covered in pee and they might not want to touch her. Well, I could kind of explain it, but it involved me acting it out on Noodle's behalf and I laughed so much that I'm sure the poor man who only wanted to pet Cookie thought I was off my rocker.

So, that's how Cookie ended up taking a bath days earlier than previously scheduled.

hi Ulrike,
this was such a cute article. don't we get so much pleasure out of our animals? i have a maltipoo and i am in love. he is the sweetest dog i've ever owned, and i have had many dogs, having to put 2 to sleep in the last year.
i've already told my partner that if anything happens to my benji, he better have a maltipoo puppy ready and waiting for me! not that it could replace benji, but it sure would make me feel better.
thanks for sharing a well written article, and keep writing,
best regards,
sue thom
