We have recently started using the Global Sun Oven - the worlds best solar cooker.

To be honest we were skeptical at first & looked at many different units for sale. But now that we have tried it - WE LOVE IT!! In fact we liked it so much we decided to become the Australian distributor for them!

Solar cooking involves using the sun to cook food. There are three main designs, a solar cooker, solar oven and parabolic cooker. Each have their benefits but for being able to be used in a normal house in the city we think this one is best.

It is not quite the instant cooking of a microwave but it is a lot better for you and is free! No carbon output and the food tastes better - no joke! We also find that it can save time - ie a meal can be put in the Sun Oven while you go out or do other things & you don't need to monitor it...but boy delicious results!

After the experience of using this device for 6 months we would recommend anyone into solar cooking - but do your research some of the units for sale don't work very well or are dangerous.  For other tips see my other articles on becoming green :)
