They say that Valentine's Day is the day set aside for lovers. Personally, I think that when you love someone, every day should be Valentine's Day. Instead of running out and buying something from a store, how about being creative and writing a poem, or a love letter, telling that special someone how much they mean to you. Words from the heart, in my opinion is the most loving gift you can share with that special someone. You can't buy that in any store and have it gift wrapped. It is a special message between the two of you.

I always write a letter or a poem to my husband on special occasions. It became a tradition of mine since we were married. We just celebrated our 32nd Wedding Anniversary on June 24, 2005.

One year, when money was tight, I wrote this little poem to my husband and as corny as it might sound it was a wonderful gift and tribute to our love and I would love to share it with you.

At first it was just you and me, then two years later, baby Alison made three.

Our little girl brought us so much joy, then along came Adam our little boy.

You are my husband, my lover but best of all my friend, who has shared my life through thick and thin.

May we always find comfort in each other's arms as we reflect on our memories and continue to share our hopes and dreams for the future.

I love you with all my heart even though we don't always agree.

You are my mate, and that is the way it will always be.

If I had to start all over again, I'd still choose you, my lover, my friend.

All My Love, Always, Iris As you can see, it doesn't have to necessarily rhyme on every verse.

My husband was so touched by that poem that in 1998 I wrote another one. This one was even more corny but we have lived these words of wisdom ever since.

There is a little cherub, that was sent from up above, Who shoots his little arrow to make us fall in love, It is a grand emotion we hope that we can feel, But it takes hard work and compromise to keep these feelings real.

February 14th is Valentine's Day, it comes but once a year, When love is flowing, couples seem to be glowing, and magic is in the air.

Why do we need a special holiday to remind us of our greatest gift?

Every day should be Valentine's Day and some simple rules should be applied, never take each other for granted, and cherish each day as if it is your last.

Your partner is your soulmate, your lover and your friend, and if you follow my adivce you will always be happy and you love will never end.

Words of Wisdom by: Iris S. Taub I hope you enjoyed my poems, and that you will give it try and write something romantic for that special someone in your life.

Happy Valentine's Day to all!
