God sits on His throne contemplating the condition of our world and is dissappointed.

"Well, the day has come and a cut-back has got to be made and I need to make a decision now. Beelzebub heads up the list on my ticket. No question he's out. But how many others?-that's the question. Just looking down the list; I'd say he has some hundred or so followers-from Abaddon, the destroyer, to Zepar, the Grand Duke of demon soldiers.'

                                              ******
"God's been watching me closely all day; I just wonder what He's got up that big sleeve of His. It can't be good. There have been rumors of a cut-back. Why do I have a feeling He's lining me up in the cross-hairs? Sure we don't see eye-to-eye; He thinks I'm too flashy, too self-serving, too proud. Look at Him sitting there in all His glory. Hey, I do my job. I keep the dissenters in line. Maybe I do use unorthodox methods, but what the Hey; they work.Well, He may be in for a big surprise-I won't go down without a fight! And besides, I have plenty of backers who will stick by me. If I go, they would go. Who would do His dirty work then?"

                                                        *****

"I suppose I could just exile Beelzebub to the pit of eternal fire and filth for one thousand years and see if that will make him change his ways. Beelzebub has let his power and fame go to his head-the next thing I know; he will be running for the American Presidency! He must be cut off at the knees. His followers then would be no problem; as they would blindly go along behind him. I think instead of sending out an email or office memo this time, I will call him up before the throne and pronounce his banishment publicly. His rein of terror over the human race has got to end; or at least be put on hold for a time. Man has reached the end of his rope. It is time I intervened to salvage what few are worth saving.'

                                                      *****

"Well, this has got to be it. He has called me to His Throne Room and that's almost never a good sign. But then again, it may not be a bad thing. Maybe God has finally come to realize what an asset I am to Heaven and plans to give me my rightful due. I will wear my most impressive outfit-the red one. A little wax on my luxurious mustache and a little filing of the horns and tail should make a most presentable presence. Oh, I must stop giggling; it isn't professional!"

                                 ***********************

There is no blasphemy intended in this article. If I have offended anyone, it was totally unintentional. I just wondered what it might have been like when God banished the Devil and all his Demons to the fiery pit and I wonder and worry how we will recognize him when he is finally released from his prison and walks among us again.  I wonder if anyone else is as frightened about our future as I am and have these same questions?  The Bible states---'he will walk about searching for souls to steal'.

Thanks for commenting, Robert. And you are right--like God, the devil too, is everywhere. God, in His infinite goodness, gives us all the option to choose the path we prefer to travel. We can only ask and pray for more followers to join us.

Hi Sandra, great job here, this is a great Biblical picture of the character of Satan. The Bible tells us he roams to and fro seeking those whom he may devour. He is the ruler of this world--at least for now. He has freedom and access to the throne of heaven. But one day, during the 1000 year reign of Christ he will no longer have access to heaven, and he will be bound for 1000 years. Woe to those who are without Christ during his release to deceive during that time. Have you ever read the Screw-tape letters?

Hi Sandra, you should read the book, I think you will love it, based on what you wrote here. It is by C.S. Lewis and it a series of letters written by "Uncle Screwtape" to his nephew "Wormwood" they are demons and the whole book is written from the devils point of view. It is a good picture of how the devil scemes to deceive the Enemy and His people. It is very enlightening to spiritual warefare. It does take being fairly grounded in the Bible to catch the meaning, but it is a great read. Check it out when you have time.

I just have a question regarding your comment to Robert, if you don't mind.. you said that like God the devil is everywhere..can you expand on that for me. I don't want to assume I know what you meant. :-)

Thanks so much. I always love your writing and look forward to each new article. I look foward to your response.

Teresa, the book sounds very interesting. I will look it up and read it. Actually, I wasn't trying to put any hidden meanings in my words to Robert. I am far from being an authority on the Bible. This is just my own personal feelings that---the devil is out there trying in every phase of our lives to get us to sin and lead us away from the Bible's teachings and God's word. I think it is the devil that seduces us to listen to unrighteous words ( using God's name in vain ) and thoughts ( lusting after your neighbor's spouse ); stealing (breaking the laws of man); killing; lying; cheating. I don't think God wants us to do these things, but I do believe the Devil does and I think he is already working to win more souls to his side.
But that is just my belief, it is not something of which I have any unfalllible knowledge. Hope that helps.
Sandra.

Hi Sandra, thanks so much for answering my question and not getting offended by it. That is what I thought you meant. But sometimes my heart skips a beat when a sincere believer says something that sounds like something else. I do it all the time and I am gratefyl for those who ask me to clarify myself because I learn from it. I am no authority on the Bible either, and I don't want anyone to think that I think I know everything. But I do like to encourage fellow believers in what I do know. Does this make sense?

Anyway, what it sounded like you were saying is that the devil can be everywhere at once just like God can but the bible tells us he can only be one place at a time and that is why he has to go to and fro and why he sends his demons to do his bidding.

You are so right, his job is to decieve and unfortunately, he does it well. But with the Holy Spirit in the hearts of true believers, they can see through his scemes.

Let me know what you think of the book. :-)

God bless you and I hope I didn't come of haughty or arrogant because that is far from my intent.

Blessings to you,
Teresa

hi sandra,
I'm frightened, not really for me, i think i can deal, but for my kids, and their kids. or, maybe there won't be any kids for them! i worry daily about all the negative energy all around and in the midst of us, and about people who have no conscience and how they will affect the world, knowing my children are out there. i don't know what to do about it but pray, and have faith in hope, that things will change, and are changing. that's the best i can do. thanks for a well written, interesting, unique and thought provoking (ya think?) :) article,
best regards,
sue

Hello, Sue. My fear, too, is not for myself so much as for the world as a whole. It hurts me to see every beautiful thing that God has given us destroyed by the ones He loves the most--all His children. I don't believe that God condones what some people call 'Holy Wars' as they kill, maime, and terrorize other countries.
Best wishes and may God be with you always.

Sandra, there will be many surprises when the time comes. Many are called (self-calling) but few are chosen. After reading your article, it was your closing that bothers me. Don't worry. Give that care to Him. Exchange that yoke for His because His is easy and light. Go to Him and rest. He's giving us the chance to be well-prepared and ready so that in the times of tribulation, we are cocooned, insulated and sheltered. No harm will come to us. We must continue to witness and pray. Some things are just too big to carry. Cast them to our Father. He loves taking care of us and removing all worries and burdens. It's not His fault when we won't release them. *smile* A very good article. It gives one a great deal to consider. We must get right with God and stay right with Him!

GROUP HUG!!!
Avis, your words have done much to ease my worries. But I can't help but worry about the many who are still lost. I am told that I am a good writer---I wish I had the ability to be a good speaker. I have tried and failed more often than I can count. I would love to tell the world---in a convincing manner---about our God and his love and goodness for everyone; even the 'vilest of offenders who truly believe'.
Thank you so for your kind words and again I remitt---you are a wonderful person, Avis.

Hi Sandra,

You are using the gift that God has given you and that is the best testimony anyone can give. The power of a personal testimony is far more reaching and relative than any well-put together speach. I would imagine you have shared how God has changed your life with those in your circle, but more importantly, I bet your actions speak volumes.

Think about this passage for a moment: "You yourselves are our letter, written in our hearts, recognized and read by everyone, since it is plain that you are Christ's letter, produced by us, not written with ink but with the Spirit of the living God; not on stone tablets but on tablets that are hearts of flesh." 2 Corinthians 3:2-3.

You see Sandra, don't ever think you are not an effective witness for Christ, just because you are not a "speaker". People are reading your life and your actions: do you follow Christ? Than wow! There is nothing more convincing than that!! I for one am blessed by the simplicity of your faith!

From what many of us can see, you are an amazing "speaker".

God Bless you! And thanks for the group hug, it feels great :-)

ps, sorry for butting in, I just love this new feature... until next time. good night.

Thank you for reading and commenting. I read and re-read Revelations in the Bible so I am constantly thinking of the end of time and where I might be and what I might be doing when it comes about. I still say the little children's pray before going to bed that I learned many years ago and hope that it will sustain me---you know the one: "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray, the Lord, my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray, the Lord, my soul to take.
Somewhere in my reading it was about the Devil being bannished from Heaven and locked away in Hell for 1000 years; then he was to be releashed to walk amoung men. When it happens, I hope he stands out in the crowd and fools very few true Christians. My book club "19% Writers Club NEA District, suggested we write a dialog between God and the Devil---This is what I came up with.

Very well written and interesting article.

I think all this chaos we are experiencing is a part of the unfolding process of the Great Vision or God's Divine Plan. Sometimes, things get really ugly when transformation takes place. Similar to the giving birth. Giving birth is messy and painful, but bliss surely happens when the child is born. These are the birth pangs, but joy is coming very soon. Our collective consciousness is moving towards enlightement.

Thank you for reading and commenting. Yes, it would certainly be great material for an inspiring book. I'm afraid it would be much too deep for me to try to expound on, but I would love to read some points of view of others.

Thanks, Judy. Sorry it was a bit short, but this was orginally just a short 'dialog' assignment for my book club. On a whim, I put it onto searchwarp as a short article---not expecting it to draw much notice. However, like I said above---some one else would need to expand on it, as I am the very last person to have enough knowledge to write anything more with any amount of intellect on the subject. I may be well advanced in age; but I'm a novice when it comes to truly understanding the Bible and all its parables. The words of Jesus fascinate me to no end---I love reading everything that is written about his teachings, but again, I am just a beginner. I do, however, thank God every day that I have found Him before it was too late.
Sincerely,
Sandra

Thanks for reading and commenting, Laura. It's not something I enjoy thinking about myself, but I feel it's staring us all in the face and one day it will happen---when we least expect it. Of course, it seems we are already fighting with the devil every day of our lives---and sometimes it's hard to believe it can get worse!

I loved this article the first time Sandra read it at our writers club and I read it again today and loved it more.A very great lady with words and feelings who is able to translate from thoughts to words , sentences we can understand and  telate to.
A good storyteller does this so little effort. I think a great many of us wonder at times about the devil. I believe in God too. I think he would have appreciated this dialogue and maybe chuckled here and there. Good Job! Sandra
