I didn't know that the cost of lighting a furniture store with its simulated environment depicting, bed rooms, kitchens, dining, living, halls, and all possible deco ratable spaces that furniture occupies can be very high. Imagine what could possible happen if you are in a 40,000 square foot furniture store and there is a power cut. So you see if there are no lights, all that expensive, designer furniture will be not worth much.
If you look closely, just as I did in a furniture store it is not the furniture which needs to be taken care of more but it is the lighting. I mean the designers & carpenters will do their job religiously but what about the lighting, not to mention the cost of lighting furniture store.

I decided to do a bit of research myself, and it threw up some very interesting data which in a way is directly connected to lighting and the cost of lighting a furniture store. A host of issues with lighting has to be ascertained and sorted out before choosing a lighting system to cover all types of furniture material and colors.
The cost of lighting a furniture store can be the deciding factor which reflects on the bottom line. There are specific goals of a furniture store lighting system, the fact that they have to be energy efficient, is of the utmost importance. Assume if the light fixtures are in excess, and as we know the temperature of such a huge no of lights will be high. This will not only result in usage of more energy, but the resultant heat will over work the air conditioning systems, leading to higher power bills.

The result will not only result will be inefficient & raise the cost of lighting a furniture store much higher than needed.
Some of the other important goals of good lighting are to attract customers and keep them coming, for the sale to happen. Thus the lighting in a furniture store plays an important role in attracting & selling to a client. Who would want to buy anything which he or she is not able to see & find it suitable for their abodes. The choices are innumerable when it comes to selection of these lighting systems, but if not done judiciously the cost of lighting a furniture store eat into the margins in a big way.
Whether to use tracks lights, should fluorescents or incandescent be the right, would floods or focused lighting systems be used on, only a photographer would find it easy to sort these problems. To accentuate and complement the colors, textures and materials of the variety of furniture all the time keeping it energy efficient, effectively manage the cost of lighting furniture is a tall task.
The cost of lighting a furniture store also involves handling the technical aspects of the lighting system itself. A store should be able to highlight the benefits of its furniture. The contrast of the lights on key items should be 3-5 time the ambient lights. Incandescent are cheaper but the halogens last longer, thus they average out the cost difference. These factors play an important role in keeping the cost of lighting a furniture store down and ensure that you spend economically and have a great effect.
