In my opinion many of us have found we work along side of and sadly do business with many who are plain and simple outright liars and those who practice the art of deception. Now that is not everyone in my opinion, but sadly the majority. Some may not care to believe that opinion but unfortunately, the word of this century, that is the case. Why, do I say that? Well because the vast majority of them are also liars and they just do not notice that they also practice this in their everyday interactions. It seems to be embedded into the corporate and personal culture of this society. A culture created that way by people who literally "see no evil in it". In fact many times they learn it from others as 'the thing to do". Ok, perhaps in their defense, they may not recognize it because it has for the most part become ingrained as part of their very being. When that happens it becomes second nature, normal, routine. In other words it has become so insignificant to them that lies or deception of any size are normal events, to be used as required or in general interaction. Yes and that includes what people see as harmless and they call "white lies". A lie none the less yet acceptable to many.

So just what am I getting at? Well first lets say that people do not like to be labeled as such, liars? Certainly not, why would they or anyone? However in my opinion it is all just another sign of the times we live in. You shall know them by their works, what they do and fail to do. Hey that's just my opinion based on facts I have experienced. That is the facts of their works and deeds. Sorry I know most do not like facts or truth, also a fact, why, because it convicts. You know, it hurts and yes they may even be forced to take action and accept what is being told to them, when they would rather look the other way or call it something else. Like what you may ask? Well how about this one bold as day, Comprehensive Immigration. No, not immigration but it sure makes it more legitimate and palatable to say it is and disguise it as legal under the "immigration" umbrella. Yes, true immigration is, get this, a legal process people work towards achieving not stealing. They followed, ok once again followed the law and waited and did what was legal top gain that citizenship. Quite different from the person living the lie. Oh, here I go again speaking about truth, sorry, what would Jesus do, right? Well he wouldn't steal and "that's a fact Jack".

So, now where does one see, or read, or find out about, these lies I speak about? Well just pick up a newspaper and see for yourself the signs and symbols of ½ truth, omission, lies, deception. Look all about you. They are there right in front of you in everyday life. In your interactions with others and society. What are they? Ok, here are some simple examples as placed by people who know exactly why they placed them as they did.

How about those marketing adds that say, "we finance anyone", no, simply not true. The fact is when you get down to it only the credit worthy get financed today and there isn't a hell of a lot of them. Then again, "we will give you 100% of NADA retail for your trade". Ok once again, read the fine print. Why bury the truth in super fine print if you are the honest non deceptive person you claim to be, or perhaps there is a reason? Well you know why. It is all about those who are not credit worthy but perhaps they can get that great loan, right, at 12.9, 16.9 or even higher and drive away in that new car you helped them to get. Yes, not the credit worthy because they get the great deals you can't give the rest. The simple truth. Once again the have nation at work all about.

Yes lies, lies, lies, fabrications, mis-truths. ½ truth whatever you name it is all about, everywhere and if you do not know something lie anyway. Say anything to get rid of them. You know like hanging up the phone, or transferring them to the wrong place until they give up. What can one say, it is fact.

Frankly and yes sadly it is found at every single level of our society. Corporations, well what can one say. Customer Service, what is that? It certainly can't be by my experience providing the service that they say they do for the price they said they would do it at? I can tell you my opinion and by first hand experience but I am sure you already have yours and know what I am saying is the truth. Must I name these "giants" of communications, retail, etc, these "All American companies who when you call you speak to foreigners who give you a false name [only a lie].

Yes, lying and deception in my opinion has taken over first place as the national pastime. The bigger the lie or deception the better. Say whatever it is from the little white lie to the big one if it works for you, fine, no problem, we have come to expect it. It is called conditioning and indoctrination. Truth not required, the bottom line is all that counts. It is "for the good of the company" you know. If it works for me then it is ok. Who says it is wrong, who? Also who really gives a damn? Yes many of these politicians will say "things have changed now that is why I have switched my position", or how about ignoring it and doing what you want anyway?. Simply do not address it.

So when you hear "we are the new", or "we treat all our customers like family" or my all time favorite "we a Christian owned business" in my opinion watch out. Yes even politics, "change we can believe in" while doing exactly what was always done. Yes but he is sure a great Easter Bunny. Rhetorically, perhaps in secret supporting, in their heart mind you, the very things they know 81% of us don't want, who really gives a damn, certainly not you who vote for them, do you? Now is that truth my friends and if you answer it is ok, that in my opinion speaks to who you really are.

Now let's move along to employment. Yes for me it is all about this "At Will" employment that our Presidential types love. What "At Will" means in my opinion is simply screw the worker, period, no recourse. My opinion by experience I simple. Don't depend on your government at all, period. Been there, done that, know it the hard way. That is the word of this century "unfortunately".

So when you hear, "hey you are doing a great job" be warned there is something up their sleeve. Yes like "Good job Brownie", remember what happened to him after that statement? Yes just like, "read my lips, etc", do you not remember? How about this one that really beats them as if it wasn't so sad a statement of conviction and of those who ignored it, "I did not have sex with that woman".

Yes, do they really care if you proved they were lying, or should we say to be nice and politically correct, uniformed or misinformed? No, just sign the resignation or counseling paper. "This is your last warning". Yes the proverbial goodbye notice. Oh you want a copy, sorry you can't have one. Oh and "don't worry you will always have a job there is nothing to worry about". How about, "sorry it is for the good of the company". Then again, how about "we don't hire illegal workers here".

Well who are those in your kitchen? Who are those building that house? Who are those in that factory? Oh we didn't know they were illegal, they gave us papers and we did everything the law says we should. It's all legal. Yes, the law, written by who and for who? I will let you fill in the blanks on that one. Don't forget now "we are nation of law" as they say, yea, right, but for who?

Yes and then if they know you are telling the truth the cover labels start flying about. If you speak the truth it must be countered in some way and what better way then to lie some more? More lies on top of lies and while everyone knows it as lies they also lie as well. Why, because, well what would happen if they spoke the truth? Oh yes and the biggest of them all "we will pray for you". Many don't pray for themselves but they say they will pray for you. Yes I throw religion in quite a bit because, well, it must be a lie that they report 90% of Americans believe in a God of love. Yes and even 21% of those who say they don't believe in God, do. Yet, if you look at all the immorality, lies, usury, exploitation, greed, etc, someone must lying or perhaps they serve a different God? So assuming it is true they believe in a God I must ask rhetorically, just what God are they referring to? Now that is the question and get this, what their God stands for and expects of them? Rhetorically, I guess it is enough to verbally say you are good and believe regardless if you do the opposite?

So look, listen, hear each day. You know who they are. They're all about you, everywhere. At home, at work, at church. Yes right there. Omission, which is a lie, perhaps an outright lie or fabrication, ½ truth, redirection, avoidance, ignoring and of course blatant arrogance. Are not these are all signs and symbols of lying. Yes catch them in it and you get the outward mannerisms of anger, conflict, aggression, confrontation, or simply ignoring, contempt an uncaring response. A fact, look for it.

Yes and we as a nation are paying the price for it. We have mediocrity and cover up in all we endeavor to do and we always have someone else or thing readily available to blame. We receive poor service and quality and are told pay of else. Certainly no loyalty, teamwork and pride. Yes in my opinion those who do the screwing, well they see it differently. They work hard at what they do and frankly, they do it well. They graduate with honors and hold positions of leadership and one wonders if honor, integrity and values were ever present, or was there always cheating, deception and lies in their character? Yes many living and prospering on a foundation of lies and deception. Yes and those they defame, abuse, lie about, ruin and destroy, well its part of life, suck it up and move on.

You see I as you experience it first hand each day because I am aware of it in the signs and symbols all about me. The comment, the innuendo, the lack of response, tone, inflection, choice of words, arrogant demeanor and the inevitable lie or half truth. I find and have found it in church and with the biggest of professors who claim to believe.  I certainly have found it in the halls of government and yes many of my former employers operated on a foundation of lies. Hey, is it only me who experienced it? I doubt it? If one can face the truth they know it is all about them. It is everywhere and to such a degree and I see no hope.

I remember as a young man my dad would say when he suspected I did something wrong, if you did it tell me, but don't lie, it will be worse. You see lying cuts to the core, the heart, it speaks to the very important issues of trust, values, honor, integrity the essence of a person, their very being. Lying is what actually corrupts a soul beyond definition. Once lost it can rarely if ever be recaptured, no matter how hard one tries. Yes so when you hear ‘the new, etc" beware" does a leopard change its spots? When one is found to be lying they are labeled and tainted and all they say is forever suspect.

So as you go about your daily life listen, observe, hear and you will see and understand what I mean. The shame of it all is that it is so openly available. It speaks to our character as a nation and to who we as a people and as individuals.

Do you want to now why we have what we have today in this nation? Why the principals of economics no longer apply? What they say never comes into being unless it favors those who have? Hey only an opinion based on their works, what they have done or failed to do. Yes, just read the paper, read and see and hear the flip flops, the switch, the ½ truths, the blatant lies, distortions, omissions, in effect the lies. Therein is your answer to it all and it will not change until we as a nation change our character. Yes and that my friends tells you where we are heading?

If you are foolish enough to  feel secure in your material possessions and assets then sit there and be content for time my friends and in my opinion is not your ally. No, just walk the malls, go to the stores, look at the packages, read about the layoffs, etc. No jobs, equals no pay, no pay equals no credit, no credit equals no buy and on and on and on and it is at the very door. The door is open and unless we wake up and close it quick it all will have been carried away.

Liars, arrogance and the new American way. Hey that's one mans opinion but one based like I said on truth. It is as simple as that, period

Hi Robert! Personally, I never understood "the Chrisitan" businesses -- We have a "Christian" car wash down the road and a few years ago, my daughter genuinely was concerned if non-Christians were welcome.... You make a lot of sense with your words but I do believe that our society is so de-sensitized about everything that truth, as everyone sees it today, is "a personal thing" more than truth itself. We've altered everything, including God's words, so who knows what's right anymore within this "anything goes society" in which we live in. Again, another well said piece of work from you! Wishing you all the best with much prayers going toward you!

Thanks Judi, yes I agree, we are de-sensitized. Like I said I like to call it indoctrination, or rather what it really is "brain washing". Now as a lady fully versed in the art of marketing you can understand exactly what I am getting to. Shall I say "The Manchurian Candidate"? yes and also with you as we like to say. Great shot of you and yours by the way!!!!! Robert
