Snake oil salesmen are synonymous with the wild west and the wise men who profiteered by selling worthless potions in bottles which could cure all ailments. As P.J. Barnum so poetically put it, "there is a sucker born, every minute". Those are wise words and thankfully most sane people can spot con men that are trying every trick in the book to steal your money.

The Internet is almost like those days of old when Snake Oil salesmen would move from town to town selling their wonderful potions in bottles, for those of us that are looking for genuine business opportunities, it is much like the those days of old, of the wild west. But nowadays, modern online Snake Oil Sales men are almost as easy as to spot as those crooks of yesteryear. They maybe don't pull up in wagons with there potions in bottles which would actually do you more harm than good, you can usually find the modern day Snake Oil sales man at the top of the Google paid for search results.

What I find extremely worrying is that they must be finding those suckers that are born of every minute of every day, I would say the modern day Snake Oil salesmen must be paying around $3-5 a hit to be at the top of the Google paid for search results. The fact that they can pay to be constantly at the top of Google is an indication on the return on their money that they are receiving. Most of the crooks at the top of Google have been there on a regular basis over the last 3 months at least, it could be years for all I know.

Modern day Snake Oil salesmen always give the game away with outlandish claims, such as MAKE $300 EVERY 20 MINUTES, EARN $150 EVERY 15 MINUTES, BECOME SERIOUSLY RICH, WITH OUR SIMPLE PLAN, most of us wouldn't waste our time even clicking onto such sites, it is an obvious con. If you knew the secret of how to make $300 EVERY 20 MINUTES, would you really give it away for free. How much would such a business model be worth, I personally think it would be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

How to Spot the modern day Snake Oil con man.

1. They virtually always make outlandish claims, such as make $300 in 20 minutes.
2. It is always easy and foolproof and anybody can do it.
3. You only have to put a little amount of work and effort into it.
4. There is always a picture of someone standing beside a Mercedes or Yacht trying to imply that you can achieve this through their business idea.
5. There is never any real substance to the con merchants business idea.
6. You should read their entire page and take action straight away.
7. They will give you the blueprints to achieve the huge levels of success that they have.
8.You don't need any special skills, experience or technical skills.
9. This amazing method transformed my life and it can do the same for you.
10. I quit my job and was making $10,000 month with a little web site.
11. The snake Oil salesman will give you fake figures of how much they have made on a regular basis.
12. There will be pictures of numerous happy users of their business system with a fake picture and testimonial proclaiming how great it is.
13. They will offer you the fake business opportunity for half price.
14. You will make so much cash that you will think it is illegal.
15. Earn a fortune from home.

Modern day Snake Oil sales men will use a variation of the above false promises  in order to get you to part with your money. They are so blatantly obvious that I cant believe that anybody wastes there time and effort with these greedy and disgusting types of people. They attack greedy peoples emotions, people that think it is possible to make easy money without having to put any time and effort into it.

Snake Oil Sales men, the sheriff is going to run you out of town and make sure you don't return! I will at some point in the near future be doing a follow up article to this one, where I will be naming and shaming the worst offenders.
