Why do we remember and celebrate the Fourth of July? Has it become just another day off? Has it become beer and hot dogs, a day at the beach or the races, a ball game, an outing, a family gathering and yes fireworks and no more then that? No meaning or sense of what it represents? Is it parades and music and political speeches or is it more then just a day off for those who understand the freedoms and saccrifices this day signifies? In many you would not know this by their deeds, works, what they do or fail to do, fact my friends, fact.
Perhaps one might reflect on foreigners who long to come here understand what for most Americans has long been forgotten. How about those who became naturalized citizens who truly appreciate what they have earned? Yes what about those who came here illegally but are fighting in our Armed forces? Do you think it is a mere day off to them?
Well then just what is this celebration all about? It is all about this Republic. Yes Republic, a word not used or even known too much anymore. How do I know, just ask. It is as simple as that. Many think it is a political party. How truly sad.
So what is this celebration all about my friend? It is all about a group of oppressed common folk, workers, everyday people and leaders who had enough concerning exploitation, a lack of representation, greed, taxes and abuse at the hands of the wealthy, rich and powerful. Yes a fact my friends for those who know history.
It is all about the farmer, the worker, the housewife, the student, the slave and the freeman, who self armed, was able to fight off the most powerful force the world had ever known to create a nation forged in BLOOD and UNITY and create a country never to be found again on the face of this earth. A nation of the people, by the people and for the people.
Yes a nation forged on the principals that all men are truly created equal and have certain inalienable rights and that their government works for the common good of them all. To secure the peace, provide for domestic tranquility and to provide for the prosperity of all Americans. In other words for the common good of all. Wow, what a concept. Where have we let it go?
Yes and in the short span of our existence and in my opinion up until this present age, we had men in leadership who honored, knew and supported that concept. On the battlefields of the Civil War men died to preserve this Union for that very purpose. Were these leaders perfect in all they did? No they failed and made errors. Did we have some bad apples, certainly. Yet in my opinion never in the history of our nation have we had so many who I feel no longer hold to those principals this nation was founded on as foremost in their hearts. They lean to a new ideology of a new world system.
Why form that opinion? Well it is not formed by words, looks, fancy speeches or promises, or the Easter Bunny package offered. No, it is by their works, what they have done or failed to do. Yes by facts and like in the days before the revolution it showed in those that supported the King of England and that government as it does today. The exploiters, the greedy, the merchants, the takers of that era. Can anyone not say we have the same today? Can we expect anything different from those who have and want even more?
Now rhetorically of course, where in this age do we see the principals that formed our government, our Constitution applied, where? Do you believe we have that today, truly believe that when we see our young spread all over this earth engaged in battle and peace missions on behalf of foreign nations? Other nations who do not have the will, determination or desire to do for themselves? Do we see it in the deals made with foreign powers that strip us of our jobs, our livelihoods, our ability to support our families? Our industry and manufacturing might given away for the sake of other nations and markets? Do we see it in the millions of illegal workers and more who come here and brazenly flaunt our laws and customs while demanding we give to them? Do we see it in the destruction of the family unit, the loss of their homes, the American dream? Do we see it in the rampant abuse of our laws? Do we not see it in the permitting of usury to continue unabated.?Do we see it in the treatment of our armed forces and their families, via the same economic distress we here at home are encountering? The loss of their home while serving their nation, no benefits, collection agents swooping down on them while they shed their blood, put their life on the line while you eat your burger, hot dogs and relax on the beach or at a race? Where are these so called professors of Christ, and religion, these men of honor they call themselves, these lovers of America? The men on the corner knew honor, these types in my opinion no nothing of it.
Now I do not challenge their history or what they have done in the past. That is gone. No I challenge now in their works, their deeds, what they have done or failed to do.
So must I go on about this Fourth of July? You see people who know understand that to be patriotic and celebrate is not just significant to us. It was in Germany before World War Two. In Italy before World War Two. Yes in Japan. Yes, in fact it was the fuel that led them down the path of destruction. In their zeal to be patriotic they ignored the signs of their own ruin. Yes to dictators patriotism was a crucial element for the people to buy into. A fact, not just my comments or opinion. They needed them to buy into the concept to be able to spread their ideology. They were the cattle, the bovine, the fuel for the conquests. Yes without the cattle where could they be or do?
So as you sit at home and eat your holiday fare. Light off your fireworks, sing a patriotic song or two, stop a moment and ponder just what is happening all about you. Yes you the haves who surely will feel the burden of the poor much sooner then you want to because time my friends is not on your side. Yes, you who remain uninterested, stay that way and watch your world and what is happening all about you that you are not interested in disappear.
Yes in my opinion as we celebrate we should think even harder about what we are throwing away. Yes you got me right, throwing away. Allowed to be pillaged, raped, taken, dismantled and moved. Yes this Fourth of July is certainly about our military, fighting in nations that hate us and our way of life and our nation that we love dearly. Yet we should not forget we too are fighting for survival. Do you think "remember the Alamo" was just a saying that had no meaning? Did "I have not yet begun to fight" nothing more then shallow words? How about "give me liberty or give me death", a most significant cry then and also in my opinion in our time. What will you choose? Think it does not apply? Then think again my friend, think again.
In my opinion we are at that point like in 1776 when many found themselves not represented. Nothing more then assets, cattle, to be used and discarded at will. So what will you do my friend? Why do you celebrate? For the day off? The beer and burgers, the races? Is that what it means to you?
Well, while I do not advocate military or armed insurrection of any kind I do say We the People have the power to make real change and not what is in my opinion an easter Bunny offering of change. Perhaps now is the time to commit to that real change? Can we do any worse? Vote for these two, give me a break. In my opinion you really are a have or a Moo if this is meaningless.
On this Fourth of July let us remember why we formed as a nation and on this election day let us have our new revolution and restore our Republic to its rightful owners, We the People. Do not buy into the one party, yes one party with two separate names, for they are by opinion and fact much the same, Birds of a Feather. The America you celebrate is in my opinion no more then the Easter Bunny. The acts, the signs, the symbols, the truth is all about for those who care to know. No, give their candidates the boot and take back America.
Now know this, in my opinion when we do great economic harm will fall upon us because they have dismantled America and they that have will seek vengence. It will be a time of hardship but the fruits will be the same as it was on that first Fourth of July, a truly free nation once more.
Have a safe, happy and blessed Fourth and yea God Bless our Republic and America!
PS: as I always say just one man's opinion that I hope is wrong.
