Birmingham is the 2nd largest city in britain & it is a very modern place with lively nightlife and some snazzy shops. Birmingham is located in the county of the west midlands &, according to a estimate from 2006, it has a population of 1,006,500.

People that are from birmingham are often known as 'Brummies', because of the city's nickname of Brum. this name comes from the city's dialect name, Brummagem, which is originated from one of the city's earlier names, 'Bromwicham'. there's a distinct Brummie dialect, which is characteristic of people that are from this city.

Birmingham is a modern, lively & cosmopolitan city. With vibrant nightlife, great hotels, exciting opportunities for shopping & individual tourist attractions, its a exciting location to visit for a weekend break or holiday.

Birmingham also has some superb buildings to look at, including the Bullring mall. The Bullring was constructed at a cost of £500 million by Benoy & is a striking, modern building.

For an interesting and entertaining day out in birmingham for the entire family, you should visit some of brum's fascinating museums or galleries. The city has some wonderful ones, which include Cadbury World. Cadbury World, the uks only visitor centre that's devoted to chocolate, takes chocolate fans through the whole chocolate making process & there's always plenty of tasty samples to try!
