"Our nation was founded as an experiment in human liberty. Its institutions reflect the belief of our founders that men had their origin and destiny in God; that they were endowed by Him with inalienable rights and had duties prescribed by moral law, and that human institutions ought primarily to help men develop their God-given possibilities" (John Foster Dulles).

"We on this continent should never forget that men first crossed the Atlantic not to find soil for their ploughs but to secure liberty for their souls" (Robert McCracken).

"A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, it is the parent of all other virtues" (Cicero).

"Freedom as we understand it in America is not an economic discovery. It is not ...even a political discovery. Freedom in the last analysis is a religious discovery" (Wm. J. Grede).

Our nation with all of its wonderful freedoms is a gift from God. Decency requires those who receive gifts to be thankful and to use them for their intended purpose. We Christians should be most grateful for these gifts. We should ever be vigilant to preserve them for those who come after us. We are a nation whose roots are deeply embedded in the traditions of Christianity and the Western Civilization spawned by it. Never allow yourself to be intimidated or silenced by the loud clamoring voices of secularism who want a nation "not under God."
