Christmas is the time of year,
when loved ones gather, from far and near;
the trees are all covered in white,
from where it snowed the other night.

Lights are flashing, people are dashing,
smiling faces are everywhere;
girls and boys, are looking at toys,
and there is magic in the air.

One can smell the pies that are baking,
and the cookies that Mom's are making;
you can hear the caroler's singing,
and church bells everywhere are ringing.

Children riding on their sleighs,
and counting down the minutes, the days;
you can see the excitement , and the joy,
when they open that special toy.

It's what they've wished for most of all,
some are big, and some are small;
dolls for the girls, and bikes for the boys,
there's lots of laughter, and lots of noise.

Mom's in the kitchen, preparing their meal,
and Dad's dressed up like Santa,
trying to make it look real.

Little Jimmie is riding his bike through the house,
then suddenly, everything's quiet as a mouse;
as all eyes turn to Mom, with her warm gentle face,
and everything else just falls into place.

Everyone gathers at the table to eat,
and to give thanks, for such a wonderful treat;
as tummies get full, and eyes start to pop,
the table clears, for it's time to stop.

Mom and Dad's watch,
as the little ones sleep;
and cherish this Christmas memory,
as one they will keep...

Christmas with our loved ones,  is a very special time.....
cherish the memories....
