God how I miss you
Even more than I can bare
      Your smile
         Your voice
            Your eyes
               Your soft and silky hair

Everywhere I go
   I see your lovely face
      Every time I turn around
         I see another place...

         That reminds me of you

Time cannot erase
   Another never replace
The joy you gave to me
And the things you helped me see

We made love under the rainbow
Walked side by side down Agate Beach
But how was I to know
         The lesson you would teach?

Love is for the moment
   Forget about tomorrow
For when love has grown dormant
It will bring you pain and sorrow

But soft
   I hear the memory
Of your voice on a distant shore
"Go away! Go away! Don't come to me!
For I don't love you any more."

How I wish the mountains would fall on me
   Torrential floods sweep me away
      That winds would blow
         Winter's blizzard snow
            Bring me death
               And set me free
                  From this memory
                     Of you

God, how I miss you
Even more than you'll ever know
And the thing that I miss most of all
Is the love that you once showed

*applause* This is exceptional, Mark! I get a sense of Pablo Neruda as I read your Lesson Of Love. Bravo! Thank you for sharing yourself as you have in this work. Enjoy a lovely day! *smile*

Thank you, Avis. Your opinion means a lot to me. However, I must admit, I am not familiar with the writings of Pablo Neruda, off the top of my head. Hope you have a most blessed day.

Mark, I can't tell you how much i enjoy your poems.... I don't know if you are getting these ideas from something that has to do with your past, but, whatever the case may be, I sure do enjoy them...

Thank you, Janice. I'm grateful that you enjoy my poetry so much. Some of it came at a great, great cost. Experience can be such an expensive teacher. But, oh, the things we can learn. Have a wonderful day. And keep writing....

GREAT POEM. MADE ME REACH INSIDE AND REALLY FEEL SOME OF MY OWN FEELINGS. SOME TIMES IT'S REAL HARD FOR ME. YOUR POEM MADE ME FEEL SAFE ENOUGH TO DO IT. THANK YOU!

Thank you, Maxine. It is important for people not to deny their feelings, but to deal with them. God bless you.
