When you think about apples and acid reflux, you may at first thought dismiss the idea. Why? Because of the acidic content of fruit, especially apples. If you have dismissed the idea in the past, you may want to rethink things.

Most people think that acid reflux is caused by too much acid when in all actuality it is the result of a malfunctioning lower esophageal sphincter valve (LES). This valve is located at the lower end of the esophagus where the esophagus meets the stomach. When the LES is working properly, it opens to allow food to enter the stomach, then closes immediately to keep the stomach's contents in place.

When a malfunction occurs, the stomach's contents regurgitate (reflux) into the esophagus.

2 main reasons why apples and acid reflux are one the best kept secrets:

Apples are rich in iron, vitamin c, and phosphorus.

The pectin in apples is a natural medicinal substance and helps to coat your stomach. It is also an absorbent and a demulcent (soothing agent).

2 of the many ways you can enjoy apples besides eating them raw:

Shred an entire apple, mix in a tablespoon of raw, unpasteurized honey, sprinkle with sesame seeds. This is a very tasty "tummy tonic". When taken before meals, it stimulates any sluggish digestive juices and helps with the distribution of food.

Slice a whole apple, remove the stem and the seeds, gently pound it until it becomes slightly mashed, drizzle a mixture of raw honey and cinnamon over the top, and chew thoroughly before swallowing. This is a good stomach medicine to take to soothe acid reflux.

2 side effects of combining apples and acid reflux:

Apples strengthen the entire body body by removing all deficiencies of vital organs. You will find yourself having more energy.
The apple helps both body and brain function because of the enormous phosphorus and iron that it contains. In other words, regular consumption of apples promotes health and youthfulness.

2 more side effects while we are discussing things:

Apples have a calming and relaxing effect on your entire system.

They help improve your skin tone.

For best results, eat at least 2 to 3 apples a day.

Any discussion of apples and acid reflux would not be complete without mentioning the amazing apple cider vinegar elixir.

2 ways of creating the apple cider vinegar "elixir":

Mix 2 teaspoons of organic raw apple cider vinegar with 8 ounces of distilled water. Mix well and drink 3 times a day.

Mix 2 teaspoons raw honey and 2 teaspoons of organic raw apple cider vinegar with 8 ounces of distilled water. Mix well and drink 3 times a day.

There you have it. One of the best kept secrets of relieving acid reflux really is apples. Now you can understand why apples and acid reflux really do go together.

There is no need to suffer from acid reflux or heartburn any longer. There are many more natural remedies for acid reflux. To find out what they are, stretch out that "clicking finger" and click on the following link: Apples and Acid Reflux.
