Assuming you were able to get your geek out of his mother's house to start a family, this holiday could be a special time for you to show your love to the geek in your life. It is the one-day out of the year that it is ok for him to be a geek.

You do not have to hide him from your friends. He can be himself. It is a day that he can embrace whom he really is-a geek!

How do you make the day special?

Give him a day to himself to embrace his geekness. Dig out those comic books from storage and all his dorky figurines (or man dolls for the normal folk) and start him on a day of fun.

Be sure to set the alarm early so he can fully appreciate all that you have planned for him. Make sure to surround his bed with his options. Start off with a new novelty toothbrush such as a Star Wars or Star Trek character. Make sure to get matching toothpaste.

Make sure the coffee pot started brewing early. The thick coffee will bring back memories of years of all-nighters at work in the basement before making it big. Don't forget the geek mug. There are tons available. Get creative and make sure you find one that meets your guy perfectly.
I would also suggest filling an ice chest with some caffeine drinks to keep him super wired throughout the day. Buy some Jolt or endless Mountain Dews. It should do the trick. If you are feeling super sappy, invite his old geek friends over the for the day.

They can play their card games-Magic or hook up with some real competition on the computer screen.

Be sure to buy matching ATARI shirts for all of them. Make sure and rent the movies geeks love in case there is a dull moment or slow down on the computer. Revenge of the Nerds Movie Marathon is sure to delight even the biggest geek. Also don't forget about Star Trek series option. You might splurge and buy the box set as a momento for the day.

Be sure and cook some macaroni and cheese, the ultimate geek food because it is easy, for lunch.

For dinner, coax him out of the house with a promise trip to the comic book store. Be sure to be patient as he looks through all the new comics. Realize he has not been in the store since you put his books in storage and started saying no. You might see if there is a store in the mall so that you can visit the nearest nail place or department store while he goes down memory lane.
Afterwards, treat him to some Chinese food. It will make him remember the endless nights of take-out. End the night with some star wars or star trek flannel pajamas. Let him enjoy his ATARI games and old forums from college.

To earn extra best wife points, check out thinkgeek.com for the latest cool gifts. Get him a cool DIY Straw Kit that will provide endless entertainment or another geek gift.

Enjoy the day to yourself and go out of your way to make his day special. I know it will be difficult since you thought you were pass these days, but give him the chance to be a geek one more day. Geeks are the new in thing so enjoy the geekness you fell in love with it.

After all, you will expect the same on Embrace Your Princess Day! ;)

OH dear, it appears you are sterotyping geeks as being all males :( I will have you know there are many proud female geeks out there, me being one, though I am a very cool geek ;). The only forums post on are science ones and my great find today was a website featuring some really weird looking deep sea creatures, Google the Blob fish for a taster!

Oh, and I watch Star Trek (New Generation and voyager daily if I can! My fav shows!

Go geek go I say!!
