The Lord get's around,- you'd be surprised

He is there when you need him, - he's quite undisguised

Although some might believe, they can live without him

Count him out of your life and your future can look dim

The problems we face every day of our life

Can be solved very easily when we eliminate the strife

Before you lay down to sleep at night

Say a prayer from your heart - and your soul you ignite

Living our lives can demand from us - a great deal of labor

Just remember the fruits of your work - is mainly for your neighbor

For we were not put on this earth just for ourselves

We work for our Lord;- we are all his little elves

Freedom isn't free we must earn it as we go along

When the path gets weary - sing a little song

My Lord I am trusting - give me strength and courage

When I meet hardships - let me not get discouraged

I'm standing on the promises - Lord build a place for me

In your heavenly home - I come to you on bended knee

David, this is great! I have a saying that many of us are not standing on the promises but sitting on the premises. I loved the part about the fruit of our labor is for our neighbor! So very true, David.

David, I was very touched by the thoughts and the tone of this poem. I especially liked the last two lines--a true and hopeful ending.

This is a wonderful poem David..... Sometimes, we forget to give praise to the one who made everything possible.... We need to praise his name, and give thanks to him everyday.....Very touching...

hi david,

i have read all of your poems and articles, i believe, in the past 2 years, and this poem stands out to me, to be your absolute best. it is beautiful, and filled with the true meaning of life. i bet it just flowed from your fingertips, or at least that's how fluently it sounds.

thanks for a great pick me up,

best regards,

sue

Well thank you Susan, actually I didn't think this poem was very good myself. But I'm glad you enjoyed it.
