David, this is great! I have a saying that many of us are not standing on the promises but sitting on the premises. I loved the part about the fruit of our labor is for our neighbor! So very true, David. Respond to this comment

David, I was very touched by the thoughts and the tone of this poem. I especially liked the last two lines--a true and hopeful ending. Respond to this comment

hi david,
i have read all of your poems and articles, i believe, in the past 2 years, and this poem stands out to me, to be your absolute best. it is beautiful, and filled with the true meaning of life. i bet it just flowed from your fingertips, or at least that's how fluently it sounds.

Well thank you Susan, actually I didn't think this poem was very good myself. But I'm glad you enjoyed it.
