Some people don't see the addition of a puppy as anything consequential because they do not place much importance on the dog. The fact that you have a puppy in your home means that you must be ready to take care of it.

Dogs come with a lot of responsibilities and shelving those responsibilities will cost you a lot of pain. House training methods vary from dog owner to dog owner. Some dog owners train their puppies using paper towels or tissues. You can train your dog using a litter box.

Never punish a dog when it responds to a recall command because if you do, it will assume that each time you call it, it will get a punishment and may fail to respond the next time you call it. If your dog is exhibiting an undesirable behavior, go over to it and punish it. Dogs learn by associating their actions to yours.

A dog whistle is an effective dog training tool and is especially good for long distance learning. A dog whistle emits a sharp shrill sound that is audible only to the ears of a dog, which makes it an excellent training tool. A dog whistle can be used to call a dog back to its owner in the course of training.

The training sessions for your dog must be reliably consistent if you are to make any headway in training it successfully. Make sure that your dog knows when its training period is coming up so that it can get ready for it. Each training session should have a goal to help make it fun for you and your dog.

A leash is a training tool for dogs that should be used with care on your dog. An improper handling of a leash can cause you to strangle your dog. Before you purchase a leash for your dog, know how to use it first.

Your dog needs to be taught how to obey you. A dog that does not know how to respond to any of your commands can produce a well of frustration in you. Dog care includes teaching it to know what you expect of it and how to respond to your needs.

Never use any dog-training device that you are not sure of. Dog training tools can turn to lethal weapons in the wrong hands. Make sure that you know the function of each tool for dog training before you use it.
