Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. No not your next door neighbors no these guys are neighbors all right but to all the investors of the world. PRIVATE business who now will be propped up with tax payer dollars and funny money produced by the Federal Reserve. Why, no choice or they will go under just as Bears Sterns was heading. Our blood, sweat and tears, plus dollars to prop up the big money boys. Why, because it all comes tumbling down if this doesn't work.

Please don't think they are there to help people. I can tell you first hand there is no help for the non Credit Worthy, non Responsible types like average Americans. They never ever speak to that but hide it, secretly, so that few ever hear or find out about it. That is unless some unknown like myself writes to it and then only a few get to read it. The rest, well in never land, only believing what they want to. No they as much as anyone control the Mortgage and Investment Industry all over this world and they are in my opinion a major player in the housing fiasco. Yes and if they fail it all comes tumbling down if this doesn't work.

You see your Banker in many cases sells your debt to one of these two. That means your bank, who may really want to help you stay in your home, have their hands tied by these corporate giants, private business, no not government as many may believe. No these are private owners, investors that own 50% of all mortgages written. Doesn't that worry you somewhat?  You go to your bank and in secret someone else owns your debt and you are beholding to them, not the one you did business with. Yes and tax dollars go into the bail out. Can we get a few to help save average people - Wake up America.

Yes does our government run ASAP to bail them out, you bet. Do Wolfs, lay with the Sheep, the rich with the poor? No billions readily available overnight but you and I if we need help where do they send you, for counseling. Just who needs the counseling here? Why, because it all comes tumbling down if this doesn't work.

Yes they would rather take the loss, sell short, get the tax write off, go to court and pay legal and processing fee's, throw you out onto the street then work with you. Yes even while they profess [there is that word again], they are friendly neighbors helping each other. Yes would you like a scarf around your neck because when we hang you and you drop you don't want to get rope burn. Gee thanks, I just knew I could count on you. Hey not too tight with the rope. Say don't you sit next to me at church? Yes, I hope you feel I answered all your questions and was helpful? Unfortunately there is nothing we can do, please go now, I have others to cast off. Yes and did you know that survey always says we are A plus in service, yes friendly, neighbors. So please don't think it is me because it is not you know, I only work here. Yes and it all comes tumbling down if this doesn't work.

Let me ask have you ever heard any talk of usury, penalties, harassment, abuse, destruction, real help for families, people, breaking laws? Please if you believe that really in my opinion you are pathetically ignorant of what is really happening. Sorry, you shall know them by their works what they do and what they fail to do. Put you out, turn off your electric, take your first child as an indentured servant. Yes and praise God, you know I'm Born Again. Yes into what?

Yes you, yes you, yes you, Mr. Middle and Average America will no longer be able to buy, get credit or achieve that American dream, unless you have perfect credit, money in the bank. Can you do that on $7.50 or $8.00 an hour and on $5.00 a gallon gas, etc, etc, etc, etc.

Yes and they come to you as light and the ones who are ignorant cheer, clap, approve, MOO or are they something else? Evidently never knowing what is happening right before them. Yes a time of separation has begun and if you scoff, laugh, have fun and find comfort I say, thank you for being part of fulfillment. Yes by their fruits they shall be known.

I agree the system is corrupt and unfair. The two major reasons why the economy of the US is so volatile and fragile are 1) Just about all the money spent in the US, by the people as well as their government, is borrowed, and our Congress has the authority to write as much funny (borrowed from the people) money into the system as it wants. Our government usually works against us, in favor of it's own power, unless it is embarrassed or otherwise cornered into doing the right thing for us.

Our government wants to get bigger and bigger so it can become more powerful than the people. Our government wants to be a dictatorship. Your article outlined the many ways it is trying to be. What our government does not seem to understand is that if it grossly outspends the people, the people will not be able to pay all of it's bills, the government will run out of money, and it will collapse from the inside. That is an extreme that probably will not happen, but we will feel the boat rocking back and forth quite steeply if we get close to that cliff.

The Federal Reserve has the lever to control all the money in circulation, but only because it is all borrowed money. If most of the money in circulation was owned by those who spent it, the Fed would not have no power. The Fed interest rate meetings would be irrelevant, because interest rates are only charged to borrowed money.

As our congress outspends our ability to earn money, the dollar gets weaker and weaker.

Everytime Congress writes itself more money, it is borrowing money from the american people. The only problem with that is it never pays us back. I agree that the reason the two mortgage giants are being protected is because if they were not, and they fell apart, the financial system that is in place today would collapse. To save our system, our government borrows more from us to save these institutions, and will raise our taxes or weaken the dollar, or both, to pay it back.

The current financial mess is a direct result of the September 11 terrorist attacks. The Federal Reserve pumped money into the system and lowered interest rates profoundly after that attack. The Fed was hoping to increase property values, KNOWING people would BORROW from their rising home values and put that money into the economy to prop it up. The mortgage mess was a COOPERATIVE effort between lenders and borrowers trying desperately to keep pushing that heavy rock of real estate values up that steep hill of fantasy land. The Fed gave that rock it's initial push.

Who ultimately is paying for all of this loss in property values and bad mortgages? The american taxpayer, through bailouts, rising energy costs and all the thru costs that result.

We The People own our government, whether our government wants to admit it to us or not. What are We The People going to do about all of this? You remember the phrase: "If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem?"

We The People have allowed our government to operate this way. What are we going to do about it?

Yes thanks for your comments Larry.  We the People must be part of the solution and what is that solution? Well we all realize we have no real choice for president, a fact if people knew their records. Only the uninformed and diehards think they are somehow different. Maybe by race and age.  No we must change Congress. It is the only true place to start and it requires all of us who don't vote to vote them all out Republican or Democrat. We can do no worse with another then what we have. Sadly, will this happen? Most likely not. It is evident by the signs and symbols all about us the people who do vote never change and that 50% don;t bother to and just sit home and complain.  Unless we spread the word and we all become active individually change as we want it just will not be. We were warned by our forefathers to beware when two parties gain control and we have it. Now what does that accomplish a] it sends a loud message shape up or ship out. b] it shifts the balabce in Congress. if we do this by even 5 or ten we have slim  and real hope. best wishes. Robert.
