It is that time again when the United States watch grown men and this year
a woman tear each other to shreds. We have witnessed it for years. We watch as
candidates tear each other apart in an effort to win our vote.
I never understood why candidates felt the need
to tear the other apart. Most recently, I watched in bizarre shock as Clinton
and Obama joined forces to campaign together in the end. It makes no sense how
two people who said such horrible things about one another could then be for one
another. Whatever it takes for the party, right?
It makes the campaign process seem so flawed.
Candidates spend billions of money to convince you to vote for them. They
promise things they never plan on providing when all the while they could put
the money spent on buying your vote to saving our economy.
As a nation, we become divided during the
election process as we listen to each candidate's empty promises. Then when the
president is elected, we join back together as neighbors as if nothing ever
happened. We apologize for saying mean things about each other and our favorite
candidates. Then we make the joke about never talking about "religion and
politics with friends."
Yet, four years will pass and we will do the
process all over again. It is amazing anything is ever accomplished with the
whole election process. It reminds me of student elections in high school.
Candidates say whatever they think the students or constituents want to hear. It
just seems like a big joke.
Our friends at JibJab thought so too. As usual,
they added some humor to the reality of this campaign. The video made me laugh
and I hope it does you as well.
