Thanksgiving is an event that is commonly celebrated in the Western World. Every household has their own way to have fun during this time. Having theme parties is one of the most popular ways of enjoying the season. To spice up the event, organizers tell their guests to wear something in line with the season. Thus, Thanksgiving costumes are seen in these parties. The character most identified with this season is the elf. Therefore, elf costumes are adorned by most people in a Thanksgiving party. These costumes have great designs and are made from carefully selected materials.

Designs for elf costumes are not difficult to come by. You can always see them on television or movies. The features of elves costumes are big pockets and tight coats. Large buttons are emphasized although they are not that significant to the elves costume design. The pants are usually short and wide with tight fittings at the end part. This will create a baggy look as is popular with elves when you see them on TV. Apart from these features, elves also wear long socks.

Most Thanksgiving costumes are made from cotton. Cotton is light and allows the body to maintain its normal temperature. Other than that, cotton is the easiest material for design process. Tailors need not add other materials such as silk or satin to the attire as sometime, they are already included in the details of the design. For those who are allergic to cotton, they can opt for synthetic fibers. These materials are sold by the yard in most fabric stores.

Green is somewhat the official' color for Thanksgiving. Therefore, the elves costumes are in the same color. Other costumes too are given the color green. Sometimes, tailors may choose other colors for their elves costumes design. Even if yellow is used, we can still find some green elements on the costumes. Red is more suitable for Valentine's Day or Halloween. White is safer compared to other colors. The naturalness of this color makes it suitable for almost all events.

There are a lot of accessories related to thanksgiving. any sort of accessories with turkey patterns are fabulous for ladies. Remember how four leaf clovers are linked to elves? They also make excellent motives for accessories. Elves shoes are also a great hit. They can be bought along with the costume. Another important ornament is the belt. Elves, as portrayed in the media are always seen with something around the waist area. An elf's belt is usually wider than ordinary belts.

Although elves are small creatures, their costumes does not have to be small sized. Tailors, just like making other outfits should give due consideration on the size of the wearer. The waist area is the most crucial part that they should pay attention to, because the wearer would be going to a party where a lot of food is served. The body shape of the wearer must match the costume itself. They should not out of shape or embarrassing.

Thanksgiving costumes are made for fun and the wearer must be happy while in this outfit. Everyone is expected to have a great time in events where some guests are wearing elf costumes and other similar clothing. Thanksgiving is celebrated with good things in mind thus a festive mood should be felt during the occasion. Costumes are simply worn to spice up the event. It should not be used to make fun of one person but rather worn as an acknowledgement to the organizers. When everyone agrees with the theme, Thanksgiving parties become more enjoyable for all guests.
