Don't you hate it when your bright and even skin starts to turn into something awful looking - ugly blotches and dark spots are starting to appear where you need it least: on your face, arms and hands. You can't wear short sleeved shirts anymore because you are trying to cover your skin blotches up on your arms. You feel like you have to use concealers and heavier foundation on your face which does not make you feel any better... You start to wonder if there is anything that could cure blotchy spotty skin.

First let's look at the reasons that are causing blotches and spots to appear on your skin. Some of the main ones are:

1. Hormonal changes

2. Genetic factors

3. Sun exposure

4. Skin injuries

5. High stress level

6. Smoking

While changing some of the factors (for example genetics) could be out of your hands, there is lots that can be done to neutralize the others! For example the well known harmful sun exposure is one of your biggest enemies - can be avoided by using high quality sun blocks on a daily basis.

Taking a good care of your skin should be on your priority list if you want to have bright and even skin! Developing healthy eating habits, exercising, lowering your stress level, protecting your skin from harmful sun rays can certainly help to dramatically improve the look of your skin. You can also use cosmetic products like concealers and foundation to cover up skin blotches and spots during your morning makeup routine as a temporary solution (you would have to repeat this every day.

Many women are wondering if there is something out there that can help them to actually cure their blotchy spotty skin. Sadly there are not too much information on the Internet to help them with this nasty problem. However you should be aware of some great risk factors you can encounter if you start using products (like skin brighteners) that may contain extremely harmful ingredients.

Always be aware of what is in that jar of cream that claims to help you cure your blotchy spotty skin!! There are many substances that are used in many skin brighteners that can cause allot of harm instead of delivering advertised benefits. One of such potentially very harmful substances is hydroquinone. Hydroquinone is used in skin brightening creams to whiten skin. Do you know where else is used? It is one of the main components in most photographic developers....

Not a great idea to use such harsh chemicals in skin cream! Hydroquinone is BANNED in some countries (for example France) from being used in any cosmetic products because of potential risk of causing cancer. Pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding should never use skin creams containing hydroquinone as it can harm their babies!

There are many more risks that are associate with using skin brighteners with hydroquinone, but I am sure the ones mentioned above are enough to convince anyone to be extremely careful with what skin brightening products to use.

But the situation is far from being hopeless. There are great natural products out there that can help you cure blotchy spotty skin instead of causing harm. They are made with natural ingredients such as herbal extracts and minerals that not only will brighten and even out your complexion, but also deeply hydrate your skin, make it firm, healthy and radiant.

Some of the ingredient in good quality natural skin brighteners are Shea Butter, Evening Primrose Oil, Grapefruit Extract, Allantoin, Arbutin, Vitamins A and C. Just take a quick look at some of their properties: Allantoin is present in botanical extracts of the comfrey plant. It helps to heal, moisturize and smooth your skin, it fights toxins and irritants. It also exfoliates your skin and makes it healthier and brighter. Shea Butter is extracted from fruit of the shea tree (it is also used in cooking industry). Shea Butter works to heal and regenerate your skin, it protects it against ultraviolet light, drying, cracking, burning and wrinkling. Evening Primrose Oil is an awesome anti-inflammatory properties help prevent skin reddening and scarring.
