What are the things that a person can think of that have any real meaning, value? They are all about us but many times we take so little time to notice them. Too busy living, trying to be something, forgetting what life is really all about. Perhaps pulling out the old pictures brings back the few moments of happiness that are for many splintered by the realities of life, The Valley of Tears, The Road of Sorrows. Perhaps sharing with friends stirs the memory?

Yes for many of us the road is full of bumps, thistles, thorns, curves, detours and heartaches. Those of us who are sensitive to others, in love, true love, not word love, feel the pains of our loved ones, family, friends and yes neighbors and we see their abuse mental, emotional, financial and yes even at times physical at the hands of others. Those who haughtily profess love, decency, compassion and really the greatest hypocrisy of all, belief in God.

The masses of crushed and disposed, taken, exploited, chastised, penalized and abused are littered in their wake. Those who do this to them sit in the highest positions at the banquet table. They are adorned with honors by their peers. They are lauded for their work and for their thinking and all the while they destroy, take, plunder. They leave in their wake tragedy and it means nothing, no nothing to them. False words of consoling, implied feelings which are no more then empty hollow expressions. Their deeds but empty shells, as empty and as cold as their souls. Yet many long to be like them and many wallow in their every speech, promise, lie.

Yes, it is "Time to say goodbye" because it matters not what one man writes or even many, even though his and their friends say otherwise and he and they speak to fact and truth. These false types just do not care. No, it only matters most  with those one loves, in works and deeds, what is done and not done, the fruits of ones labor not what any one man says. Yes though one be a great orator, a speaker it matters not, but only in their works.

Yes as we sat with friends of many races and nationalities and saw for ourself  the love of '"family", the cornerstone of life and the foundation on which all men must build on to be happy. Yes average people from the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, America, north and south and from all walks of life, white, black, brown, southerners, northerners,  all sitting, laughing, dancing, happy, no evil, no hatred, no exploitation only good times, it struck me that this is what life is all about. That is true life, true value, true happiness.

We drank the traditional drinks of their culture and ate their food and we sang Happy Birthday in English and their kids played under our feet, that is America. They  came from all over and became legally Americans. They did not come illegally and they work multiple jobs, they do not turn down any work for any amount of pay, working multiple jobs to make ends meet. Can any born here Americans say the same? Yes good people, decent people, caring people. How, they kiss, they embrace, they share, they help each other, life, family that is wealth.

So consider this, ponder it, yes think about it, you who have, you who's only thought is of more, of wealth and more money, possessions, position, power, what gain the world and lose your soul? Ah, yes the soul, what does that matter to those who's quest is this earth and all it has to offer?  Many a rich man seeks to leave his legacy for history, yet are not all men remembered in only two ways? For the evil they bring upon people or the opposite, the good. Be they rich or poor,  the same. It is to the poor man, the average man, and yes the rich man as well only in how he shares every moment with those he loves the happiness and joy  they bring to them. This is peace, this is happiness, this is true wealth, this is true treasure.

Can the rich man say this is first when his mind is somewhere else? Can the poor man when he carries so much woe? Yet it is there to grasp for all who see and who understand, right there, what we all want, seek, desire, yes that is those who truly love.

Yes and we know that the thieves come in the night, to take, to plunder, to destroy and greed and wealth, power and riches are their weapons, their backers. Yet they also come as lambs, wolves in sheep's clothing, entrapping and snaring the gullible and even the wise and sadly trusting. Yes seeking to devour they do to many. Yes these persons of honor they think of themselves as.

Yes it is "Time to say goodbye" to them all and all that are like them. Yes it is time to understand that they will grind you up and spit you out and move onto the next and the next after you until you will have been long forgotten by all, by all, by all, except those your heart has truly touched, who you have loved, in truth and in honesty. They will never ever cast you down and out, nor trample you and they will always hold you in high esteem and position, where no one can corrupt or take or destroy, in their heart of hearts.

It is also time to understand the enormity of what I am speaking to because for the most part multitudes are just like them. Seeking all this world has to offer under the guise of believing, God and Love and even daring to profess such openly while doing the opposite. They follow the piper like the mice they are, dancing to his tune and happy in hope. That is until they reach the water.

Yes it is "Time to say goodbye" to holding onto that belief. Who are they, well obvious, you shall know them by their works and what is closest to their hearts. It is simple as that. Yes to you who know what I speak to, "it is time to say goodbye", will you?

To you who I know have hearts of pure love, no question. To the rest who no not what I write of, no use.

Hi Robert! With one week to go before my "big move" Laura and I went out for a "farewell" dinner. In the midst of our conversation she, as many little girls her age, exploded with the excitement of becoming rich and famous one day. I watched my animated daughter as she shared all she was going to do with "the piles of money" she is going to make and I was amazed with my little girl's vision; her ambition includes helping the poor and hungry; funding reputable charities and taking care of those in need. Personally, being on both ends of the stick (having wealth and loosing it) I believe that money and position should NOT change the heart of a person who genuinely lives for the King -- Perhaps that is where our society fails; God is not in the midst of many of our lives therefore creating monsters of pride and ego. Thanks for sharing a well penned article and, as always, wish you the very best!

Great article Robert. Faith without work is dead. It doesnt matter what we say, hear, or think. What matters most are our actions or lack thereof. You are awesome.

You humble me with your kindness and words, thank you.  Roschelle, we all have a way of making and bringing about change and contributing to bringing about good. However, like writing we must take the first step and venture into the cold world. Many who are read everyday by many and enjoyed, like yourself, wondered if they ever could write and attract people to read. We see when we go forth in trust, faith and belief and take action, all is possible. As always, my very best wishes to you and yours, keep those articles coming. Robert.
