WHEN SHOULD YOU FIGHT?
When a would-be assailant confronts you, you have three choices, you can:
1) Run away
2) Give him what he wants
3) Defend yourself
You will have to evaluate the situation--sometimes in a matter of seconds--and decide which course you will take. If you feel that your attacker intends to harm you, then obviously you must defend yourself. Generally, however, if you can get away or end the confrontation without physical force, you should do so. This has nothing to do with the morals of using physical force...it’s just that your chances of being hurt are much greater if you engage in combat.
Using violent force in a self-defense situation requires a 100% commitment from you. You cannot “test the water" by pushing or shoving an attacker to see how aggressive his response may be! If you decide to defend yourself, you must launch your attack with every intention of killing your opponent if you must. You must “want" to break his legs, to hurt him, to try to do as much physical damage to his body as possible. I know this sounds brutal but this is the state of mind you must be in to succeed. Remember, if your attacker has the opportunity to defend him-self, he may kill you or do irreparable damage to your body in retaliation. If he wanted to “play fair," he wouldn’t be attacking you in the first place.
If you feel incapable of carrying out this type of violent assault, then you are better off not launching any type of attack. A halfhearted attempt may result in you failing, and being confronted with an enraged attacker who now wants to hurt you, but who moments before would have been satisfied with a few seconds of orgasmic pleasure.
The fact that defending yourself requires such a large commitment is another reason it’s better not to fight unless all other options have been exhausted.
