Batman, himself, Christian Bale has been arrested by London police because
of allegations of assault to his sister and mother.
This arrest comes the day after his appearance at the European premiere of
the movie that is being criticized in the United States because of its
violence.
Bale, 34, is alleged to have lashed out in his suite at
Park Lane’s Dorchester Hotel on Sunday.
According to Sky News, Bale's mother Jenny, 61, and sister
Sharon, 40, went to police on Monday to make a formal allegation against Bale.
The complaint about the actor was then passed to the Metropolitan Police for
further investigation.
A police spokeswoman told British media: "A
34-year-old man attended a central London police station this morning by
appointment. He was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault. He
currently remains in custody."
Is the movie the cause? I think we will see countless
media attacks on the film as the days come. After all, it has been said that
Heath Ledger’s death could be blamed on the effects playing the character of
the Joker had on him personally.
Bale could be having those same effects. As someone who
has seen the film, I can see how playing those characters can get into the head
of the actors. They were so real. I think that is where some of the criticism
of the movie being too violent comes from. Those actors made that movie so
realistic with their portrayals of those characters.
That being said, assault should never be excused. I just
wonder if Bale is suffering from the same effects Ledger did after filming this
movie. Who would of thought that one movie would cause so much turmoil in its
actors’ lives?
I think if it is having those same effects on Bale as it
did Ledger, his family should view this as a cry for help. Get help now before
it ends like it did for Ledger.
I think it is hard for actors to differentiate reality
from the movie life. We see all the time actors and actresses “fall in love" on
a set of a movie, then reality sets in quickly and the relationships are over.
Since the news is just coming out, we are really not sure
of Bale’s involvement. I just wanted to throw my two cents in if he is ultimately
found guilty.
The movie took in $158.3 million the first weekend. Is
that amount worth the death of Ledger or the possible legal trouble for Bale
not to mention relationships with his family damaged?
