You can always make up excuses for dirty kitchen or a disordered living room. Your unexpected guests will take it lightly or won't be too offended by it. However, a dirty and horrible looking bathroom has no good excuse to save your face. People would be quick to notice all the horrible and dirty mess in it. They will be quick to judge you as an unhygienic sort of person. Nobody likes to stay in an uncomfortable bathroom anyways.

Regularly cleaning it or better still, having a bathroom remodeling as soon as possible for a more presentable and more impressive look will be for your own advantage since every possible visitors of yours will definitely going to use it one time too many. So it will be good to be prepared for the unexpected.

Before you start on the remodeling, you should assessment of the bathroom. The bathroom could possibly be the smallest space in your house. This will make it easy for you to assess the room. You can do it in a day or maybe a few hours. You can leave out professional advice as there are a lot of lifestyle magazines Internet websites you can get ideas from.

There are a few tips you can use to successfully renovate your bathroom so it will look even better:

- Assess the present look of your bathroom and note down every detail.

Do some of the paints already chipping off or have faded much already? Are there visible crack already on the wall or among the tiles on the floor? Does the showerhead or the sink look dirty already? Are the cabinets creaking when you open them? Does the bathroom lack in aesthetic impact? How about the lighting fixtures? How about the color of the room? Write down the current look of the bathroom and think of what you can do to improve those specific areas of concern. Then scout for the materials and check local stores for the prices.

In your assessment, consider the size of the bathroom. If you long for freer floor space this time for more mobility inside or so that you could appreciate the intricate design of the unspoiled floor tiles, then look for a bathroom cabinet that you can mount on the wall. There are many designs, sizes and built you can choose from (you can have them custom-built as well) depending upon your needs (like what you are going to store on them and how many).

You also need to determine a budget for renovating the bathroom. This will set the boundaries on what you should have and what you should just do without. There is no need for you to spend all that you have on the bathroom alone. You can use the money to renovate other areas of the house too. You should stick to a budget you have planned. Only make amendments when it is deemed necessary.

- Spend but try to save as much as you can.

What is meant here is this: as you spend money remodeling the bathroom you try to look for ways where you can save a few hundred bills by looking for thrift shops or using recycled materials or waiting for store sales or even selling old bathroom equipment and fixtures.

Saving money should be your priority. Therefore, when there are things you can do on your own, you should do so. However, you may need help on certain areas like plumbing and wiring. Don't attempt to do anything you are not sure of yourself. This might cost you more than you should anything goes wrong.

Good tips and practical. I have already done mine and with a few concepts I have changed the size perception via a few very inexpensive changes. Good job.
