Do you get DLL or other errors messages? Errors involving .dll can be stated in a variety of ways. Most of the time though, the error messages involve corrupt, missing or failed .dll. Naturally, there are a variety of other error messages. To most people, these messages seem like a foreign language altogether.

DLL Errors

Errors that include .dll are among the most common. Although some errors may seem like they just appeared out of the blue, .dll errors may have some explanation behind them. Here are some possible causes of .dll errors.

• Believe it or not, your problem could be your hardware. A damaged disk drive, an overheated PC, interrupted power or any other major damage could all contribute to the appearance of .dll error messages that just won't quit.

• DLL files are actually necessary for certain programs to run. It is possible that you could get error messages related to .dll if you install or uninstall programs. In some cases of installation, a .dll file could be overlapped by a new .dll that does not match a program. Incorrect installation can also damage a .dll file. When you uninstall on the other hand, a necessary .dll file could be removed as well.

• DLL error messages could also be the result of viral infections. Some computer viruses specialize in removing program files. They could be the reason behind the corruption or loss of some .dll files.

Possible Solutions

There is no need to panic when you get DLL and other errors messages. There are some possible solutions that may help you solve this recurring error problem. Here are some of them.

• In some cases, a .dll error could just have really happened out of the blue. If this is the case, restarting your computer may be all you will need to do. The error message will not recur again. As most of us already know though, this is not often the case.

• It is possible that the problem could be an installed program. You may have to install the program again or have it updated to take care of the problem. If there is a defect with an installed program on the other hand, you may have to uninstall it.

• Make sure you uninstall programs properly. It is possible that you could delete a .dll file in the process of uninstalling. If you get a .dll error message after uninstalling, you may have to once again install what you have just removed to get the missing .dll back.

• Always invest in a good virus scanner. Add some anti-spyware software too. These can help prevent damages that can be wrought by viruses and spyware.

Registry Problems

You may have done all you can to solve your .dll error message. If you still get them in spite of your best efforts, the problem could be in the Windows registry. The registry is a directory of all the changes you have introduced to your system. That includes programs you have installed and uninstalled. Naturally, the more you use your PC, the more bloated and complicated your registry gets. There could be gaps here and there, orphaned system files, leftover program files that should be uninstalled and more. This scenario could be the root of your .dll error.

If the problem is with your registry, then you have to clean and repair the errors in it. You can easily do this if you are a tech expert. Most of us however, are not. The best alternative would be to use registry clean up and repair software. The best kind of clean up software will automatically back-up your system, scan for errors and clean or repair them.

DLL and other errors messages can be a great bother. Never fear though. There is always a way to solve your problem with error messages.
