Our nation is going through a grave crisis today with not only the high cost of oil but also the future looks bleak for upcoming generations. T. Boone Pickens and Al Gore have some very ambitious and bold proposals set forth to bring about a brighter future. Our nation has been through difficult times in the past during the great depression we all united and worked hard to get our nation back on its feet.

We can do the same today if we all roll up our sleeves and get with it. After reading, these two excerpts from T. Boone Pickens and Al Gore please click onto the providing links to view and listen to their video and acquire more information.

An excerpt taken from T. Boone Pickens

America is in a hole and it is getting deeper every day. We import 70% of our oil at a cost of $700 billion a year - four times the annual cost of the Iraq war.

I've been an oilman all my life, but this is one emergency we can't drill our way out of. But if we create a new renewable energy network, we can break our addiction to foreign oil.

On January 20, 2009, a new President gets sworn in. If we're organized, we can convince Congress to make major changes towards cleaner, cheaper and domestic energy resources.

To get this done, I need your help. Check out the plan. If you think it's worth fighting for, please join in our effort

The following excerpt taken from Al Gore

No single person will stop global warming, but by working together, we can make it a priority for government and business. We'll succeed because when people unite and call for action, change is inevitable. Together we can solve the climate crisis.

i fear for all of us who can't seem to get it together, but i fear more for our kids, and how they will inherit this economy, and oil, and gas prices, insurance prices, car insurance, and on and on. i pray for help.

thanks for sharing,

best regards,

sue

Yes Susan I think about future generations more than I do my personal well being. I'm almost 60 years old, I'm on my way out. But the children of today have got a whole life ahead of them. I believe we could make things better if we all tried.
thanks for commenting.
