You want change and improvement in your life, right?
We all want growth, improvement, success. This quest is what brings us to sites like this one. That's great, guys! It shows that you want change in your life and that you're serious about it-have you not taken the pain to come to this site and now are you not reading this post in the hope that it'll help you create some positive change?
(Thanks for visiting, by the way! )
So that was a good first step. What becomes even more important after this is what you do now.
Are you surfing the Net at the moment?
Is consuming self-help literature as a casual hobby or a pastime for you? Are you saying in your mind, "Wow! Another addition to the sea of self-help sites. That's nice.", and are about to move on to some other self-help site?
If any of this is true for you, you haven't come to the right place.
Success, or change, is not about feeling good'. It's not about entertainment. It's not about the feeling of moving somewhere-it's all about actually getting things done.
The things that you always wanted to do.
The things you know will get you what you want in life-success.
Now let me tell you the biggest secret of the whole self-help thing-that magic pill that you're looking for doesn't exist! There's no program, book, article, workshop, speech that can give you a quick fix.
Oh yeah, you've heard about lot of quick fixes-books and CDs and programs and workshops that "change your life instantly", even without any commitment from your side whatsoever! But no quick fix that actually works. Let me tell you this with 100% guarantee that whoever's telling you what they will do to change your life inside out, without mentioning anything about what you will have to do, is a huckster trying to make a quick buck and avoiding them is the first step of your self-help journey. (Read my last post "Personal Development Trash" to know more about how to avoid these traps.)
"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
-Albert Einstein.
Oh yes, I know you've all read this quote before. In plain language, this is what it means for you: If you don't change your world won't change. Simple enough, isn't it?
How can you do the very same things again and again (not trying to give up your bad habits, not trying hard enough to commit yourself to your purpose as much as you should, being lazy, not trying to exert self-control and the list can go on) and expect to be the amazing new you one fine morning? It's not logical, right?
So enough words of wisdom from my side-cause anyway, now you know the key is not me, it's you! So why should I go on prattling?
If that's what you're thinking, you've got it, mate! You're probably not even reading these lines, cause you know you can make a better use of your time by getting up and start doing anything that'll get you nearer to your goal. So bye for now, and I hope to meet you soon again with may be a new and practical life lesson, or-who knows-may be a fun and interesting story!
