Here I sit deep in thought again,
my chin cupped in my hands;
I'm staring out of the window,
and seeing the beauty of the land.

The lawn is adorned with tulips and cactus,
weeping willow trees cast a giant shade;
pansies are on each side of the walkway,
and the big rocks in the yard are man made.

A large birdbath stands alone in the shade,
and four birds are drinking there now;
just look at the butterflie's flutter,
as they enjoy the spring somehow.

My eyes slowly turn to the rose bushes,
as the bee's buzz happily around;
and take in the sweet nectar of the flowers,
as rose petals fall to the ground.

A cool breeze blows through the window,
and the curtains sway to and fro;
a robin perches on the window sill,
searching for somewhere to go.

Far away in the distance, you see mountains,
standing tall against the sky;
and flocks of birds fly over head,
then land in a tree nearby.

I enjoy this peaceful moment alone,
taking in all of nature's delight;
and watching the sun, as it slowly goes down,
the sunlight now turning into night.

The fresh smell of flowers, means that Spring is in the air...This is my favorite season of the year... Everything is fresh and new.

Hi Janice,
Sounds like a wonderful place to spend quality time.  I do the same out by the pond in my back yard. Lots of my ideas come to me while working or sitting out there.  Must be the same for you.  Those of us who really enjoy nature are ahead of the game.

Thank you so much Patricia... I'm glad that you enjoyed this poem..... I was just sitting on my deck, and looking around at everything.... I went inside of my house, and grabbed my pen and pad and starting writing.... I love the outdoors, and the smell of the flowers... Thanks again.
