My fellow Americans…

This is the last time I will speak to you from this office.

Despite my best efforts to protect and defend our national interests, it has come to my attention that I no longer maintain the support of the American people. More than two-thirds of Americans no longer approve of my performance as the President of this great Nation. Those in Washington who have opposed my administration from the beginning have taken advantage of this perception to undermine my position, my power and my authority. They have disregarded the Presidential privilege to grant immunity to those who have served under me in the best interests of national security. They have challenged the decisions of your Commander in Chief and made accusations that I have violated the Constitution of the United States. They have also, most recently taken action to prosecute the President for impeachable offenses.

I admit, there were never any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq prior to my authorization to invade that country. The justification for the invasion was contrived to set America on a wartime economy. The military industrial complex has earned profits in the hundreds of billions of dollars at the tax payer's expense and at the cost of well over 4,000 innocent American lives. We have violated international treaties in the inhumane treatment of prisoners of war. We have raised and armed private militias to circumvent both federal and international laws. We have funded and armed terrorists around the world under false pretenses. Yes, we have done this, and much more.

As the President of these United States I solely take responsibility for these offenses. I have been negligent in my duties and have violated the sacred trust of the American people. I have served private interests for corporate fiduciary gain. I have dishonored you and the principles upon which this great republic was founded.

Therefore, I shall resign the Presidency effective at midnight tonight. Vice President Chaney will be sworn in as President at that hour in this office.

May God help us all.

NOTE: The President spoke at 9: 01 p.m. in the Ovary Office at the White House. The address should have been broadcast live on radio and television.

The speech should have been given some months after the "Mission Accomplished," address. Bashing Bush does no good, at this point as I stated on the day he was elected January 22, 2009, is not soon enough, but we are almost there. Cheeney, Ms. Rice, Carl Rove, and the rest of the Bush crowd hopefully will fade into history as quickly as possible. Though the challenges left for the next President will be there for years to come due to the incompetency of the current Administration and eight years of bypartisan Republican Rule.

Just two problems:  This would have left Cheney in full charge, with Rumsfeld, Rove, and Rice "helping."  That and your comment about the "Bush crowd" fading "into history."  What this despicable administration has done will, in the eyes of world, not fade into history any sooner than will the mad deeds of Hitler or Nero.  If, indeed, there is a future world to even look back on history, or anyone left to freely and honestly write it.

In the eyes of the world, the glory days of the great American democratic experiment ended with John F. Kennedy.

It is evident that a lot of people are against what Bush has done, but in the same respect, September 11th had left people angry and bitter. No matter who was in office I guarantee we would have gone into some form of war. It may not have lasted this long or been this controversial, but there would have been fighting. We all forget the pictures of the lines of Americans outside numerous armed force recruiting facilities ready to 'kick some a**.' We can not solely blame Bush for sending them over seas. In many instances that is what they wanted. They were @#$@#&*ed as many of us were. I'm sorry for all the people out there who think this whole thing is his fault. Can we really, in confidence, say that the democrats would have done a better job? We have no idea. We can say oh he would never have declared war, but we just don't know for sure. Get over it!! No one will ever profit from putting others down. People make mistakes.....period. No matter how big or small, we all make them. Bush is human. Can you say you would have done better? Yeah right, I know I wouldn't have. He should have done this or should have done that, well had you been in his place I'm sure you would have been getting advice from a million different sources. This nation the day after 9/11 wanted war, or did you forget that too?

My fine feathered friend, your statement is eloquent, and even partially true. However, you must be reminded that when the country wanted to "kick a$$"after 9/11, GWB was talking about Afghanistan, the alleged area that Bin Laden was hiding.

What did that have to do with Iraq? You mean they finally found those WMD's ? Saddam Hussein and Al-Queda did have a relationship? Yeah, Bush is human. He is a human that became drunk with power, using the U.S. Military to settle personal scores and line the bank accounts of his business associates.

GWB willfully placed American lives in danger, that was not a mistake.By the way, just how is the current administration treating American military personnel upon their return to the USA?Can you say Walter Reed Hospital before it was brought to our attention?  If you are going to be a Bush apologist, talk about all the facts.

This is a wonderful thought to think that GWB would have the "BALLS" to admit that he lead this great nation to the depths of despair and bankruptcy. Resignation at this point can not give back the lives of the wounded and dead service menin this senseless war. GWB was the "puppet" for the giant money making machines. Leaving Chaney at the helm is like leaving the "fox in charge of the hen house". God help us all

People want to complain about how horrible Bush is. Well, at the time when Truman was president, everyone hated him, and he is now considered to have been a great president by most. Sometimes it takes years to see that a president everyone thought was horrible at the time was actually decent.

Also, people sometimes seem to forget that maybe if the Senate actually had some balls and didn't let Bush do these things, we wouldn't be in the situation we're in.

You wanna complain about high gas prices? Think about this. In the 70's, gas prices quadrupled. They dealt with it, and yeah it sucked, but they made due and cut back. And also, these high gas prices will be a good thing in the future. The cost of gas is making people work to find new ways to be energy efficient. If it weren't for these gas prices, do you really think we'd have started looking for ways to ween ourselves off oil and move to solar, wind, or ethanol power? Sometimes you have to go through rough times to make good changes, and I think that right now is one of those cases.

As far as the war goes, many Democrat's voted for the war. Many Americans wanted us to go to war, too. We went in there because in the 90's, Sadam's scientists were saying that Sadam has WMD's. They were trying to make him look powerful during the Persian Gulf war. When the UN wanted to inspect after the Gulf war, he claimed he had none, but wouldn't let the UN inspect. That sounds pretty suspicous to me. I would've invaded Iraq, too, if I'd been in Bush's predicament. Now, were there weapons? No. It was a lie on Sadam's part and lack of contact between intelligence agencies. But Bush was going by the intelligence he had at the time, and the intelligence said "Sadam has weapons". Say what you want about Bush, but he was trying to protect our country from a dictator whom he thought would want to harm us. That is what a good president does. Now, was Iraq done in the best way? No. We could've planned better, and Bush could've listened to the military strategists rather than his cronnies. But seriously America. Don't whine about Bush sending troops over. There's no draft; those troops signed up for the Army and the Marines and the Navy and the Airforce. They chose to do it knowing that if it were a time of war, they might be deployed. And also, have you forgotten that we still have military presence in Japan, the 38th paralell, Germany, and many other places, and those troops are just sitting there? Do you complain about that? No, of course not.

Is Bush the greatest president? No. But he did what he thought was best, and maybe if Congress and the Senate had given him some limits, instead of pansying out on their job, maybe things would be better.

If you wanna complain about Bush, fine. That's your choice and your right. But maybe you should add that our Congress and Senate are just as at fault for letting him do these things?

If I'm about to shoot your wife, and you have the ability to stop me but don't, doesn't that make your wife's death your fault as well?

That's how it is with Bush and the Senate and Congress.

And just one last note about the war:

Bush must be doing something right. There hasn't been another 9/11 since we've been over in the middle east, and the terrorists were messing with us ever since the 70's.

Just something to think about.

Wow, am I glad he resigned now all the problems are gone. I just new he was the one who did it all. I was starting to think those two Presidential Candidates and our Congress just may have had a hand in it? Yes and are there really that many who disapprove of him? I understand the numbers are even higher for Congress? How can that be when so many vote for them, strange? Hey why not get a jump on the next resignation letter for whomever gets elected. They will certainly be the cause of all ill, right? Good job. Robert

It's also nice to know that I'm part of the 'vast number [of stupid] American citizens. I believe I said that I could not be any better than Bush himself. I was humble enough to know that I'm not smart enough to be in politics. I don't listen to the news every 5 minutes or spend my time on the internet looking up the latest on what the white house has done wrong. It's going to happen no matter if I like it or not. I'm not in charge here and I don't want to be. I have a life that is too busy to really get a chance to understand what is going on in my own neighborhood let alone in the nation. I do apologize that you think I'm the representative for all that are going to lead our nation down the crapper. I am part of the working-middle class-single mom society, so do with it what you will. I am not about calling people stupid, so if you, as well as Mark enjoy cutting people down, that's your choice, have at it. As for me, I will still be proud of who I am the nation in which I live, leader and all!

Mark:

Thanks for trying to help out the Commander-in-chief, but it was too obvious he's not capable of such a straightforward and sobering thought process.  If I may, please allow me to submit the following in its place:

Fella citizens:

This note is coming to you from Beijing.  I have decided not to return to DC.  Instead I am going straight to Crawford to find that poor Mom who has been trying to get my attention for the last 3 years, and then I am leaving the country.

In a moment of temporary sanity after feeling that volleyball player's behind, I have come to realize how this limelight of fame and fortune and this life of abstention can drive a white man like John Edwards nutty.  Condi and I have decided to elope to Bora Bora.  We are going to pitch a tent, set up camp and just veg out for a while.

There is more in life than hanging around the Secret Service and pretending to be born again.  We all believe what we need to believe to get by, and my days of being born again and dying over and over again are indeed over.  This war has taken all the starch out of me and Viagra doesn't even work any more.

From this point on, I am dedicating the rest of my life to the woman I truly love.  Laura, that matchmaking may have worked for a while, but a loveless life is full of suffering.  I am going back to find a high that I once knew with Jack and coke.  Hopefully, love will conquer all.  I have given up on being just another white guy.  The country is not even white majority any more, and I cannot pretend to care for Al.  I can't understand half the things he says most of the time, so how can he advise me on anything?  Please say Goodbye to the twins for me.  Please tell them I am sorry I ever dragged them into this Presidentz thang.  It was never intended for any of us.

Dick will do fine with the job for a few more days.  He has always wanted to sit in my office and put his feet on the table any way.  Tell him to be careful with that gun though.  It's not permitted in the People's house, and I don't want him to shoot himself by accident.  It would be terrible to have those Dems move in now before November, even though I don't think Johnny Mac is going to make it.  He still thinks all the things we said about him before South Carolina were made up.

So long, everybody.  So long, Dad & Mom.  I am signing off.  Don't call me.

George

I wasn't bashing you Mark, I was simply disagreeing with you. I never said you were a bad person, or that you shouldn't have an opinion. I just don't think that bashing someone else for something you cannot change should be worth your time and effort. Okay, I have a better way of saying it....as my 3 year old's movie would state "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothin at all." It just makes sense. I know it's a far off comparison, but if Al-Queda wasn't so mean and hateful we would have less problems right now. All I'm trying to say is that if more people tried to love their neighbor rather than putting them down or hurting them, maybe we wouldn't hurt so much ourselves.
You don't have to agree with me, it's just what I believe. You may even say I live in a dreamland, but why everyone not just be nice for once, no matter what we feel? Only you can choose to be angry or loving, not the people trying to hurt you. --DENVER

Actually I'm not surprised that you are trashing someone again. Two weeks ago there was an incident on a bus over here, where a terrorist beheaded a sleeping young man and carried his head to the front as people scattered. He ate pieces of the man (cannibalism) as OSAMA bin Laden has instructed them in his one of his last publicized messages.  The elite media wouldn't touch the story...it might upset those who are voting for Obama.  You should be able to find it out there, if you look.

A Navy Seal who writes books on our special OPS that have been done overseas in areas like the middle east warned of the possible coming attacks to the U.S that would never stop until the US were all muslims; in 90's. They had fought terrorism, theft of nuclear weapons, and the jhadist for several years on the QT, under the Bush Sr, and Clinton Admin and into next Bush Term. .. sad to say he was right. 9/11 was not the first attack on the U.S. by jhadists...there were several prior to that. Timothy McVeigh went to Pakistan and met with Al-Queda once that they knew of. USS Cole, and the list goes on.

We gave Saddam Hussein a 6 month notice we were coming to attack Iraq, and there were satellite pics of huge trucks (tractor-trailer size) crossing from Iraq into Syria on the news at the time...don't you ever wonder what was in those trucks. Noone knows but I guarantee it was some of what we were looking for. After the 9/11 commission report was released, did you read it? NO...because a connection to AlQueda was actually in that report where a member of Sadaam's Republican Guard met with a leader in Al-Queda., but it was buried and not publicly stated.

So for all of you who live in la la land, just know that when Bush leaves office, there will be no restraint for the terrorists. The home growns will rise up, and the crazy ones like the man on the bus will begin to kill people on our soil. Yes, we'll have change, and you may not like it. Raila Odinga, who is Obama's cousin pillaged and burned homes in Kenya when he lost the election in 12/07...his goons did an ethnic cleansing in Rift Valley killing 1600 people. Obama campaigned for him in 2006 in Kenya. They were speaking on cell phone during the NH primary. The BBC News reported all of this when Kofi Annan from UN had to go to Kenya and brokered a deal to give the winner of the election (current President) to give Odinga half of the power as Prime Minister, and half of the cabinet positions to stop the bloodshed. Obama's half-sister is the one saying they were raised muslim, and from a muslim family....not strangers. So while you are railing against the man who has kept you safe for eight years, just remember by Jan09 he won't be President , but will we have a man with enough BALLS to stand up to Al-Queda. Why do you think they are rejoicing in the muslim countries for Obama? Drink the Koolaid, and go your merry way, but remember there is a judgment day coming for fools.  I'm not here to change your mind, because your posts say it all.  Just remember you have been warned.

Oh boy. Can you say "conspiracy theory" and scare tactics? Did Bush #2 tell everyone that would listen that Saddam tried to "kill my daddy"? Think revenge might have been a motivating factor in the invasion of Iraq?

Saddam was given a "6 month notice"that the Yanks were coming? I think the question is, what business did we have sending troops to Iraq in the first place? I see that "oil grab" was never mentioned.

Can the media be slanted, and put a special twist on information? Of course, but to attempt to make a connection between Bin Laden and the cannibal in Canada is a reach. By the way,I was able to find that story everywhere that I looked.

As for the 9/11 report, can you tell me where to find that buried information? Even if information was not publicly stated, the entire report was published, and is available in most bookstores.

Dude, you are entitled to your opinion, but the only Kool-Aid being sipped is profiling and scare tactic flavored. I guess the next post will deal with Obama wanting to turn the country over to terrorists.
