Some MySpace home pages are really impressive to look at. Others are sort of generic. If you want your profile to grab the attention of your guests, you should add some custom features. Animated backgrounds are one way to really make your MySpace shine!

What are animated backgrounds? Whenever you look at a web page, you see a background image behind the text – even if it's just a plain, solid-colored background. When people build MySpace pages, they like for those pages to reflect their individual personality. That's why custom features, including backgrounds, are so popular. Animated backgrounds take everything that's good about a custom background and set it in motion - literally.

Imagine how dramatic your page would look with an animated background full of twinkling stars or glittering strands of diamonds. Some animated backgrounds are very subtle; perhaps just a picture of a girl winking one eye. Others are more detailed, like a backdrop of crackling flames. All of them add a little bit of fun and personality to a MySpace profile. From kiss-blowing lips to twinkling Christmas lights, you can find animated backgrounds to suit every style and every occasion.

A simple Web search will turn up pages upon pages of web sites that offer animated backgrounds for your MySpace profile. Just go to the section you want to choose from, such as celebrity animated backgrounds or cute animated backgrounds. Browsing through the selection can be a lot of fun, but be prepared to spend a decent amount of time at it. There are literally thousands of backgrounds to choose from.

Luckily, once you find the best background for your page, installation is a breeze. There will be a text box that contains an HTML code which points at your background of choice. Click inside this box. All of the text should become highlighted. Then hit Ctrl-C on your keyboard to copy the HTML.

Return to MySpace and edit your profile. Paste the code into any section of your profile by clicking in the text box and hitting Ctrl-V. Save your settings and return to your MySpace page. Now you've got one of those cool animated backgrounds on your own home page!
