Traxxas' new Slash is a fantastic smaller race truck, but you don't have to be a racer to love it! It's constructed on a combination chassis based on the Stampede/Rustler blueprints, and is really stable, even at speed. The body is Massive! though the chassis is technically 1/10th scale, the body appears more to be 1/8th scale. It deviates from all other Traxxas trucks in that the wheels are hidden, not sticking way out of the wheel wells a la Monster Truck. Non-modded, the Slash is peppy, but I put in one of Traxxas' new Velineon brush-less engine and speed control systems. WOW! Now it can do wheelies as required, and manageable drifts around corners!

The TQ radio set Traxxas includes with the Slash is adequate, but if you plan to race this truck, an after-market transmitter is best, as it would have the adaptations necessary to tailor the truck to any course circumstance. Spektrum creates an outstanding one. I likewise urge a different tire/wheel combo, as the stockers aren't a right pick to race with. I interchanged them with a tire/wheel combination from ProLine, which are smaller diameter wise, but a bit larger than the stock ones, and they just wake the truck up! Now the Slash can go through corners MUCH faster than before!

Traxxas has exceeded itself with this truck! The Slash is a good truck to start racing with, because of it's forgiving nature in most areas, and it's phenomenal handling. Several judicious application of after-market parts well-defined above, will make it a truck to beat! Don't be surprised if individuals come up to you asking about the truck, because the Slash is wonderful peculiar truck!

I race the Slash at OCRC raceway in Huntington Beach. This is my favorite vehicle, and I own 9 cars/trucks. all electric. The slash only cost $200 and comes ready to race. it's durable and low cost to drive. My only complaint is that the speed control doesn't come with "smart stop" "Lipo Cutoff" to protect my LiPo Batteries from running down bellow 6volts. otherwise, a perfect masterpiece of an rc truck. I love this truck. Thank you Traxxas, finally someone building rc cars/trucks that don't brake every time you hit a curb or pipe or land wrong off a jump. Every home should have at least one Slash in it. it's a must have! Rock on Slash!
