19 year old Michael Causer from Liverpool was left fighting for his life after being battered in what was thought to be a homophobic attack. The attack happened as he walked home, and 2 men were charged, while a third was in court for witness intimidation regarding the attack.
Paramedics took him to Whiston hospital, and he was later transferred to Walton Neuro hospital where he underwent surgery to reduce swelling around his brain. Just 8 days after the attack, Michael sadly died, on Saturday 2nd August.
It is thought that the attack happened because Michael was openly gay. He had just got a job at a hairdressing salon.
What is the world coming to when an openly gay young man cannot walk the streets safely, without being set upon by ignorant, selfish thugs? Not only have they killed one very special young man, who had the rest of his life ahead of him, they have destroyed so many other people's lives - especially those of his family and friends.
Friends and campaigners are now planning a march and a 3-minute silence in memory of Michael.
An online condolence book is up and running where people can share memories of Michael or offer their condolences to his loved ones. Click here to visit the site.
Kerri Jones, 21 from St Helens, Merseyside UK.
Her lifelong label is Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).
She is the one with the problem as it is her personality that is wrong. It
doesn’t matter that she suffered at the hands of her alcoholic step-father for
the first 9 years of her life, or that she underwent other mishaps.
The past means nothing in her life, according to her
consultant. Kerri’s personality is not quite right, and there is nothing anybody
can do. Living with depression, PTSD, self-injury to name but a few, her life is
far from simple. After various suicide attempts and dangerous self-inflicted
injuries, how is she still alive?
Writing!
She writes to save her mind becoming exhausted. She writes
her most inner-thoughts and feelings down and sees the pain she feels. Only then
can she deal with it.
