Neon tetras and red line tetras work well together in a small aquarium. 2 tetras per gallon of water is a safe rule for keeping these fish, as long as we avoid overfeeding these little pets. We enjoy keeping our little school of fish safe and sound.
We keep our little aquarium clean, and in the summer months, we use a color lightbulb to light the aquarium so that the little fish do not get too hot.
We have an aquarium light that we leave on during the colder months, this helps to heat the aquarium, so the fish are comfortable with their living space.
These fishy little guys and gals are colorful and friendly, enjoy looking at you and like quiet music, to swim by.
We change the water by about 1/2 gallon per month, so that the water stays fresh, and make certain that the water has aged a few days to remove the chlorine. Shaking the water for about a minute, removing the cap a few times, also helps to aerate the water.
About once per week, we also need to add about quart of manually aerated water to the tank, in order to keep the aquarium a healthy place for the fish to live.
These fish are small, so we crumble their tropical fish food into tiny bits. We also feed one crumbled frog pellet to our little fish, as this is a tasty treat. We enjoy our tiny pets, who like being part of our home.
