San Diego is a wonderful travel destination that offers something for everyone in your family, even your 2 year old! Whether you have a toddler or preschooler, here are 10 attractions that are sure to please on your next family vacation:

World Famous San Diego Zoo – Your toddler will love looking at the monkeys, elephants, giraffes, flamingos and koala bears, all easily accessible from the Zoo entrance. For the polar bears, you'll need to take the Skyfari Aerial Tram which in itself will be a highlight. This cable car ride offers panoramic views of the Zoo and the San Diego skyline and will probably be your toddler's favorite part of the visit. The bus tour is worth the ticket price to see the massive zoo. Sit on the top of the double decker bus for a fun ride. Also check out the Children's Zoo near the Skyfari entrance for exhibits geared for kids and a petting zoo.

San Diego Wild Animal Park – The sister park to the Zoo, the Wild Animal Park is unlike any other animal park you've ever been to. It's bigger which means LOTS of walking with your toddler so be ready! But the Journey into Africa tram will let you see most of the expansive African exhibits in comfort. Your kids will enjoy the ride and spotting rhinos, giraffes, buffalo, zebras and more along the way. If your kids love lions, the Park's Lion Camp is a must see.

SeaWorld – If you want spectacular shows, SeaWorld is the place to be! From the Shamu show to Dolphin Discovery, your toddler will remember these amazing animals for a long time. There's also the Sesame Street Bay of Play with character appearances and kid-friendly rides like Elmo's Flying Fish.

Legoland – Does your child like Legos, firefighters, animals or vehicles? Then he or she will love Legoland. From riding in a safari jeep, boat or airplane, these super cute rides will thrill your toddler. Explore Village has a play area with fun buildings, slides and activities geared for the younger set, complete with fire station of course!

Coronado Municipal Beach – This is our favorite beach for kids in San Diego. You can't beat the picture perfect view of the ocean, Hotel Del Coronado and Point Loma in the distance. The surf is gentle, the sand is soft and the lifeguards are present year round. Complete with bathroom and showers, this is a great family beach. Free parking and beach access.

San Diego Model Railroad Museum – If your toddler loves Thomas the Train, or trains in general, this is a must-see in beautiful Balboa Park. At 27,000 square feet, this museum is the largest indoor model railroad display in the world. The HO and N scale layouts are among the largest of their type. There's a Thomas the Train play area and a lunch room full of trains if you want to bring a sack lunch.

Reuben H. Fleet Science Center – Also located in Balboa Park, there are numerous exhibits to thrill kids of all ages, no matter how scientifically inclined they are. Kid City is for infants through age five, and will be a highlight for your toddler. This city geared for kids to play in has its own grocery store, factory, book nook, block corner and computer station. Everything in this museum is top notch and hands on.

Seaport Village Carousel - Seaport Village is a quaint shopping village located downtown. You'll enjoy gorgeous views while shopping or having lunch. And the historic carousel is a great ride. Hand-carved in 1895, the carousel is still going strong. There are 54 animals to ride including a dragon, giraffe, teddy bear and lion, but keep in mind only the horses move up and down. It's $2 per ride, but it's a long ride and worth the admission ticket.

Sea Life Aquarium – The creators of Legoland have now made the Sea Life Aquarium, an imaginative recreation of The Lost City of Atlantis. The combination of Lego models and sharks, sting rays and other creatures is impressive and will captivate your toddler. Sea Life is designed to ignite your child's interest in ocean life and it will do so!

Mission Bay Park – You have young kids so that probably means you visit lots of playgrounds! A great place for San Diego playgrounds is Mission Bay Park. Centrally located and super close to Sea World, Mission Bay offers really great play areas with beautiful views. Try the playground at Tecolote Shores North just south of the Hilton Hotel in East Mission Bay.
