It is amazing what our minds go through when someone criticizes your
work. You may get frustrated, fearful, or angry at the person doing the
criticism. I have been asking myself all day if what I did last night
was the will of God or based upon fear.
My previous article talks about how a combination of sins ultimately
led me to do something that I thought was impossible for me to do. I
wrote the article last week and have gotten mixed reviews from it. And
then I got one last night that actually made me fearful. Of what, I
don't know… Maybe, the article gave too many details and I got weary
and revised it. That's it! I changed my article because I let fear come
into my heart.
I let fear rob me of being able to share with others my sin. The
reason for sharing it was to help others in the same predicament. To
let them know that there is someone who has done that horrible sin and
has been reconciled by my Heavenly Father.
And also, all the previous articles that I have written had gotten
great reviews and I just couldn't handle the criticism. God was the one
writing those articles. Not me. Who am I?? I am nobody without Christ.
So…here we go….again. I committed adultery last year. I sinned
against my God and my husband but I know that I have been reconciled to
them both.
If you have a problem with my infidelity, you should…infidelity is
not a good thing at all. It goes against God's plans for our lives. My
heart was not where it should have been.
However, to those who criticized me, who are you to judge? We all
sin. Yes, we are to judge our brothers and sisters in Christ, but when
was the last time you sinned??
John 4:8-11 says, "and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was
caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone
such women. Now what do you say?" They were using this question as a
trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down
and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on
questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of
you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."
Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard
began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus
was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up
and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" "No
one, sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared.
"Go now and leave your life of sin.""
I know that we all can be fickle at times…I have been there myself.
I am just asking that you give me the same mercy and grace that Jesus
gave this woman.
I know that many people in the world consider what I did as
something that is irreconcilable. Well…if you put it against the cross,
you have no leg to stand on.
Jesus Christ is my Savior and I am tired of letting my fear get the best of me and allowing the sin of fear get into my soul. |
