The teen help business in general has brought many families back together again.Defiant teens attend these schools and most graduate and return home a changed individual. Their behavior has also turned around 180 degrees. Others behavior doesn't  change much at all, however they may have received enough credits to graduate. A small percentage of out of control teens that go to these boarding schools may not get anything accomplished and return home defiant and unruly.

Upon viewing the many troubled teen websites on the internet one may come across a claim such as "Our boarding schools offer a  97% success rate" or "Your teen will return home perfect, guaranteed". The truth is that these websites are extremely biased and tend to use business terms to make parents feel relieved and in good hands. You have to consider multiple things when understanding the phrase "success rate".

In each parents mind the word success could vary from:
1-Does my teen respect authority and will he respect me when he returns home?
2-Does my teen understand that he had it good and will soon want to return home?
3-Will my teen graduate with a diploma? Is your school accredited through the state?
4-How do you help troubled teens change their behavior and how will it help my child?

These are a couple of examples of how to measure success rates offered at these schools. The point is, ask the boarding school questions about how they can help your child. Tell them what your idea of success is and what you want. Teen Options will help if you are interested in sending your son/daughter to a private behavior modification school. They have helped parents from all over the USA and will do their best to help you. Or call 800-591-0115 www.teenoptions.com

Jake has been working with families for many years and understands what parents are looking for when considering a boarding school for their troubled teen.
