Robotic massage chairs are growing more popular every year, largely on account of their genuine therapeutic benefits. Owning such a chair is like having 24/7 access to a professional massage therapist, without the bothersome scheduling commitments and the pile of bills that rack up with repeat visits. Whether you need a full, deep massage to alleviate pain, or just want to relax for fifteen minutes by relieving some tension and softening up your muscles, a robotic massage chair is what you're looking for.

Older and cheaper massage chairs generally feature manual roller adjustment, so you can "personalize" your massage. Chances are, though, you're not a professional massage therapist. While you might be able to set the rollers to a massage that is comfortable for you, comfort alone doesn't guarantee you get all the health benefits of a deep and thorough massage.

Robotic massage chairs are programmed to adjust the rollers for you; using sophisticated sensors that scan your body, including all of your pressure- sensitive points and characteristics such as your height and build, a robotic massage chair will calibrate its rollers to deliver the deepest and most therapeutic massage possible.

Most robotic massage chairs are engineered to mimic the motions and gestures of a master shiatsu massage therapist. After scanning your body, the chair will deliver a precise Shiatsu, Swedish, or deep tissue massage that is customized to work for your body. Recently, the Shiatsu massage has proven the most popular. "Shiatsu," a Japanese art form roughly translated as "

finger pressure," focuses on key "trigger points" in your body. These trigger points are actually bundles of muscle fibers that tend to get tangled if they are neglected, or overused. Using precise movements and calculated applications of pressure, a robotic massage chair kneads and stretches these key points to relieve aches and pains, and promote overall well being.

By massaging these trigger points, a robotic massage chair improves your circulatory and immune systems. It facilitates the flow of blood through your veins, which supplies nutrients to your body. Better circulation also means better breathing, and a more efficient oxygen transfer to red blood cells. Better circulation even improves muscle performance, and can accommodate an enhanced mood by releasing serotonin and other neurotransmitters in your brain. This promotes focus, concentration, and general contentedness.

A good robotic massage chair, especially a Shiatsu or deep tissue model, will promote faster healing. The massage itself releases pent-up toxins from your bloodstream, which improves your health and also rejuvenates your complexion.

A robotic massage chair reduces blood pressure, muscle spasms, and body tension, while improving your flexibility and you overall range of motion.

One way of looking at it is: a robotic massage chair slows the effects of aging, or: it keeps you young!
