Do you have a worn down bathtub? Tubs can certainly take a beating after several years of use and this process produces chips and scratches that look terrible. It is wonderful to enjoy a relaxing bath in a smooth tub, but it can be uncomfortable if you feel those cracks on the chipped surface. There are several options to consider if you need to fix your bathtub.
One choice is to replace the bathtub all together. This is a good idea if you are remodeling your bathroom anyway. Today's bathtubs are usually larger than ones made thirty or forty years ago, so you may have to change the size of the space in which you place your bathtub. If you have a small bathroom, you may need to remove the toilet or sink in order to replace your tub in the first place. For a job of this size, I would only replace the tub if you plan to do extensive renovations anyway. This option may seem very cost effective at first due to how cheap new tubs are, some warehouses even sell them for as low as $200. However, if you factor in the price for a contractor, demolition, removal, landfill fees, and a plumber, purchasing and installing a new tub could cost around $2,000.
A second option is doing an acrylic liner. This process would make your tub appear brand new but it only covers up the problems, it does not fix them. It is also not any cheaper than bathtub refinishing, your third option, and it does not produce as long lasting results. Refinishing your bathtub is a popular choice for those who do not want to purchase a new tub and would like to get the most life out of the tub they currently have. Porcelain, fiberglass, and cast iron tubs can all be refinished but the best news is that this process can be done in your home with minimal mess. Your tub will even be ready for use 48 hours later!
You can refinish your bathtub yourself, but it is highly recommended that you hire a professional to do the job. This process will get rid of the cracks and scratches and will make your tub look like new. You will find this option one of the most economical and certainly the most stress free!

I had HARD TOPS refinish my tub after several failed attempts, and it is wonderful. I could use it after 24 hours and it looks brand-new! They said it would last up to 20 years... so far it has been a year and no problems.
I do not see them listed, but I highly recommend them. google Hard Tops for info :)
