Graduating soon? Looking for career move after being in one place for a while? Finding stable job in today's economy is a challenge, and it is very difficult to land even a temporary or part time one. Although there are some convenient places where you can check every now and then for temporary or permanent positions:
  • If you are a graduating student, visit your career services office and be in regular touch with your school councilor. They can give you some good leads. Placement offices are in contact with the direct or contract hiring firms, so they can give you some really good pointers and references.
  • More and more hiring companies are posting their available jobs in local free classifieds. Check your local area listings. Craigslist Classifieds and Khrido Classifieds are some local free classifieds that have separate sections for career and employment. You can contact the job posters directly using their online form. Chances are you will find more relevant job postings that are available in your area. And you will get advantage over other overseas candidates if they are looking to hire someone locally.
  • Newspaper classifieds have separate section for job postings. Browse through the available jobs and contact the employers. It could be pretty time consuming though.
  • If you are not a member, join LinkedIn business networking. They have lot of hiring managers and employers as their members who are looking for enthusiastic and energetic people to hire for their firms.
Landing a job of your dreams could be a challenge, but you have to keep looking for useful resources to find one. Never give up.
