Do you believe in hope, and optimistically expect life to bring some happiness and joy into your World? Maybe you are going through a rough time, but you are able to get past it, knowing hope is on the horizon. Maybe you remember when you were young, and longed for that red bicycle you saw in the store. You hoped you'd get it for your birthday, but weren't sure if it would happen or not.

Three months of hoping until the big day arrives. The anticipation is nerve wracking. You wake up, run down the stairs, two at a time, and there, right in front of your own eyes, is the beautiful red bicycle. You now have an experience to look back on concerning hope and believing. You believed in hope. Now, you know it's a possibility for the future. You longed with optimism, expectancy, and desire for something exciting and happy to happen to you, and it did. Hope. You believed your mom loved you so much that she would make sure you had that bike for your birthday. You believed in hope, and you hoped to believe.

This doesn't mean that every time we hope or believe in something, it happens. We must learn the ups and downs of the World we live in. When Christmas comes around, and we hope and believe we'll get the dirt bike we wanted, and instead get an RC plane, we also learn that sometimes, those who know better will make decisions we won't like or agree upon. Whether money is the issue, or safety, no amount of hoping or believing is going to get us that dirt bike. At the time, we have no concept that these lessons will serve us well in our future. Very few, however, will let one or two disappointments keep them from their hope that allows them to believe something good will happen. Chances are, next birthday will be filled with the same hope and beliefs in something else.

I feel hope is the spiritual part of our desires, and belief is the Earthly part. Hope doesn't have to be learned, it just comes naturally. Belief takes a few situations to happen in our best interest before we begin to understand how important it is in our lives. Hope is more transparent, belief can be seen, as the red bicycle was seen. Hope is expectation, optimism, longing, and desire.

Belief is a thought, idea, or opinion. It is more solidly based on Earth, where hope is a feeling we have, but don't know what the answer will be. While going through serious situations, we may have thoughts or opinions or ideas on the subject at hand. Hope allows us to spiritually uplift ourselves to a level of Trust that God will do for us what we can't do for ourselves. Belief in this lets us know that although we have God in our corner, we must do the work it takes to solve our problems, with His guidance.

Hope is what pushes us forward, knowing God is helping us. Prayer is our greatest gift. It gives us the ability to talk with God, and ask for His help. Believing He is listening, is Hope. I hope I believe in the right things. I wish the World was a better place to leave to the next generation. Wish is just another word for hope. I couldn't wait to have kids and enjoy them, play with them, teach them, and watch them grow. I have three beautiful kids, but the World is losing it's own beauty, and I fear for their futures. I believe things will become more and more expensive, I believe it will be harder and harder to have a family, home, car, insurance, clothes, etc., but I hope someone will come along and begin to change what we have destroyed out of greed. Someone who will be in a position to stop the wars and lower the gas prices, and give we, the people, some hope.

I want to believe this, for I will not be around when my children are my age, and I know how hard it is now. Do I have the hope? I believe that if we do good for ourselves and others, and we have a close conscious contact with God, work hard to get what we want, then things have a chance of getting better. I hope I continue to believe this.

Sue, there you are giving hope to others in need. Yes you have your struggles and many far in excess of what many have as theirs,  but you have helped many with your writings and spirit.  Hope is getting off of the floor and getting knocked down again and again and still getting up and moving forward. Yes hoping for a better tomorrow that you believe will come. best wishes, peace and blessings, Robert

hi robert,
this is such a foreign time for me, and it holds no security or safety, and i still haven't gone to trial (unless that's what they are trying to avoid)
but that's reality.
spiritually, i know God will not allow anything to happen that is not right and just.
i am paying for past mistakes, and when i am done, i will be free, like you said in another comment. hopefully, after the results are in, my partner and i and the 5 kids we have between us, and 3 grand daughters, will all use this as the place to visit often.
that is my hope.
thank you for reading, commenting, and caring.
when someone cares about you enough to pray that you'll be alright, i can feel the positive energy.
i hope all is well with you,
my best regards,
sue

Hi Sue, If character is forged by adversity, you should be quite a character by now! :)

Hoping is wanting it different from what is. What is is what is, and all acceptance of that will bring peace.

When all is lost at that moment of our death (that we will all soon face), when we have no choice but to accept losing everything, many find their salvation.

I think about you and wish you the best of luck.............e

hi e,
i have been told by many that i am.
it was an especially nice moment when i walked outside to go to my durango, which i loved, and it was gone. i have experienced things i never knew existed in this past 10 years, but past 18 months the worst. i have been very naieve, is all i can say. not so anymore. i am anticipating great strength when this is over, and i can breathe again. thank you for thinking about me, and, i'm reading, and breathing, and learning.
my best,
sue
