"I have one life and one chance to make it count for something . . . I'm free to choose what that something is, and the something I've chosen is my faith. Now, my faith goes beyond theology and religion and requires considerable work and effort. My faith demands -- this is not optional -- my faith demands that I do whatever I can, wherever I am, whenever I can, for as long as I can with whatever I have to try to make a difference." Jimmy Carter

The 21st century is the current century of the Christian era or Common era in accordance with the Gregorian calendar. It began on January 1, 2001 and will end December 31, 2100.Technologically, the major differences to date from the 20 th , century as of 2008 are the changes brought about by the digital revolution of the 1980s and 1990s, and particularly the internet. While the 20th century was marked by the rapid development of travel fueled mostly by petroleum, the 21st century so far has been marked by concern over how to deal with consequences of pollution and resource depletion.

"The above excerpt taken from wikipedia encyclopedia"

Are we a united people? In the business community, we have competition amongst ourselves. We have business executives who wheel and deal making all sorts of shrewd and conniving maneuvers sometimes going beyond the boundaries of the law.

The 20 th . century brought us radio, television, telephone, and the launching of the internet. Here in the 21 st . century we are bombarded with television commercials carefully arranged to capture the viewer's attention.

The way I see the world today with all of our high tech surroundings we are moving at a fast pace. Although these days do not compare with the fast paced world of the 60s. In the 60s, we were on a course leading to world destruction. However, that world no longer exists, reality, as we know it today is largely made up of people living hypocritically.

"When we blindly adopt a religion, a political system, a literary dogma, we become automatons. We cease to grow." Anais Nin

What I mean by this statement "living hypocritically" is most of the vast amount of people living in society today are afraid to be themselves they would rather conform to all of the madness throughout society.

The leaders in our theology environment are teaching and spreading the word of the Bible. Although I, the author of this article have a strong belief in God I do not believe the Bible to be accurate in all, or most of its prophesies.

I do believe in Jesus Christ, nonetheless I do not believe in the second coming. Not in the way, the Bible describes it. I believe in a comment John Kennedy once said, "Here on Earth God's work must truly be our own"

A true Christian will rebel against the establishment not conform to it and try to get as much as they can out of it. Those of us who defy the lifestyle of living our lives as well-adjusted individuals in society are few compared to those whom praise our system of government.

Common sense alone will tell us living by the standards set forth by our government is very asinine. Our founding fathers did set forth a lifestyle to build and create the world we see today. Only those days have accomplished their task, it's time we begin living and building towards our future.

Great article, David, and although I agree to disagree, you are right that as true Christians, we should rebel against the establishment. Too many of us are afraid to 'rock the boat'. Not many of us want to see another Civil War in our own country--we see enough and get involved enough of that in other countries. So like cattle, we will again line up for the slaughter at the polls.

Great article at any rate. Keep up the good work.

Sandra

Thank you for commenting Sandra. I believe we as a country were undergoing a revolution back in the early 70s. We were not undergoing an open arms conflict. It was an awaking to the truth. I don't know if I make any sense to you.

Good article David,

I can't help to wonder, if we have been in a revolution for much longer than the seventies? In a biblical perspective there has been and still is wars and conflict happening. I also feel as though we could all stand united as a nation much stronger if (I know this is a big if) we could step outside of our comfort zones. I think we need to trust God and let him bring the walls down like he did for David and many others. God bless

Thank you for referring my comment as beliefs. Yes, I have strong spiritual beliefs, but I don't necessarily believe in religion as it is all man made, even the religion that I am associated with. I do however live in today and hope that there is a positive result for tomorrow. Doing my part is essential for all children, grandchildre and the adults of this world. If you were to ask people who know me, they would tell you I was human and not your typical pastor's wife. I do my best to be myself and help others if possible. Again, good article.

Yes Michelle, there was a time when I thought I had all the answers. Only I was leaving the Lord out of my plans for the future. Today with the Lord's help I believe we have overcome many of the problems facing the world. I believe we can move forward today with the Lord right beside of us. I don't believe there will be a second coming. the way the Bible describes it anyway.

Great Article David. Conformity will never see truth, although conformity will believe that it knows it. This is dangerous, as history has revealed. Meditation and purposeless prayer (Just opening and letting go)  are courageous acts of non-conformity.

David the answer in my opinion to it all, everything, is in second Timothy Chapter 4. No not, I, a mere sinner that I am who writes to it in his articles, but directly from the Lord as he spoke to Timothy and as Timothy wrote it. Read it and understand. I believe you will understand what I am saying. best wishes, Mr. Melaccio
