CNN reported that a dog who was nursing her puppies also sheltered and protected a newborn baby boy that had been abandoned. The infant was reported to be only a few hours old and abandoned by a fourteen year old mother.

That is the kind of dog that everyone could use. This amazing dog saved the infants life. The dog carried the baby from where he was abandoned and sheltered him until help arrived.

A resident from a rural area outside of La Plata , Argentina found the infant after hearing it crying outside. He notified the police and then the baby was taken to the hospital.

Amazingly, the infant had only superficial scratches and bleeding. Had it not been for the dog, the baby could have died. It was approximately 37 degrees outside and the dog carried the infant to her own litter of puppies and kept the baby warm.

The mother of the child was driven to the hospital by a neighbor the next day and turned in to the authorites. She is now under psychological observation and has little to say regarding the incident.

As this is a very sad story, I am thrilled that the baby was saved and the dog is a hero. Not to mention the wonderful people who came to his rescue.

May God bless all involved which saved the newborn! As far as the mother, she is a child herself and I hope that she gets the help she needs and that God will touch her in a special way.

Great story Michelle! God uses all His creation, doesn't he. And yes, I agree with you. May this young mother be touched by the grace of God and come to a place in life where she can be reunited with her child. God is is the business of forgiveness and restoration!! Lord bless you!

Well-written, very sad article, with a happy ending--hopefully for all involved. AS you said, the mother was a baby herself and needed help as much as the infant. It just proves that God does watch over His children.

Thanks and God bless.

Sandra

Thank you Sandra,

God is awesome and has helped me more than I could even count. Today my desire is to be used by Him and win one more for Jesus. Our nation is in a sad state so if I could be positive and help anyone, I want to do so.

Blessings always my friend.

Hi Michelle, What a wonderful story. I think it is neat that a dog would do such a thing. Keep them coming.
