Dolly Parton - Dead or Alive?

The internet has been buzzing with the rumor that Dolly Parton has died. Although an unofficial announcement has been made to the contrary by Pete Owens, Dolly's public relations agent, the rumors persist. Dolly has not appeared to make a public announcement as of this article.

Dolly Parton, who was born in 1946, is perhaps the most popular country music female vocalist in history. Her's is truly a rags to riches story. Raised in poverty on a tobacco farm in Tennessee, with 11 siblings, Dolly began her television career at the age of 12 and started recording at the age of 13. Dolly has won numerous Country Music awards, has starred in several movies and is the head of a $100 million media empire, Dolly Parton Enterprises.

If the rumor of Dolly's demise has any truth to it at all, the nation and the world will be losing a legend.

Dolly Parton was a great actress and country singer. I hope this is only a rumor.

Hi Mark,

I truly hope this is a rumor, she is a wonderful singer and actress. I have not yet heard anything on the news. Good day Sacramento's Cody Stark would be so heart broken. I'm sure if this were true he'd of told the whole world by now... He loves her...

You wrote this article in August. It is now October, and last week Terry Gross talked to Dolly Parton about her popular song Joline.

Long live Dolly, one of the most wonderful personalities of modern times.
