If you happen to look in a magazine these days you'll most likely come across a celebrity and how their life is falling apart and how mixed up they are with drugs. Or how one celebrity is cheating on their spouse. The media loves to report negative and scandalous news. Why? Because they know it will sell. They have been around for a long time and know how to push all the right buttons so their numbers will increase.

When it comes to the troubled teen industry, many families have been helped. Teens have turned their lives around and have become a positive part of our society. But why hasn't this been reported in the news? Because it won't sell as well as this headline- "Teen was raped and abused by staff member!" The press gets a hold of this and will make up as much dirt as they can. They will interrogate the "troubled teen" and ask if they had anything happen to them, if they saw anything shocking occur. And whatever the teen says is true. But what if the teen was placed in the boarding school for lying and cheating? His parents didn't trust a word he said at home. So why are they surprised to hear him say something negative about a place he will do whatever it takes to get out? In every business in the world there is bound to be problems. Bad things happen. But good things also happen.

When researching different boarding schools it is important to find out if the program has had abuse charges and other information. Ask them how their school will help your child. There are great schools that truly want to see your child succeed. Numerous parents have given testimonials of the wonderful things that have transpired while their teen was attending these specialty schools.
