This is a satirical if not sad fictional conversation between a very important leader and an average American. However, if your not into reality please do not read any further, it just won't interest you. Read something less stressing.
Hi, I hear your the man to make change? Is that money change or real change? No I'm going to get rid of business as usual in Washington and make real change. Well remember that song I'm in with the in crowd, doesn't that fit you? Well come on now of course, but you know how can anyone win an election telling the truth? You have to spice it up a little with hope, perception and you have to smile and deliver. They eat it all up. Well just what is it that I can do for you. Well things have been rough lately you say? Ok it may sound harsh but you know life isn't easy, well for you at least. I don't have any problems and I don't see America as having any, so what seems to be your issues as I said, lIfe is good for me. What's that you say? Your asking about fuel prices. Oh I don't drive much and anyway I can afford an increase in price when I want to drive. You can't, well what can I say, try some other means of transportation to work. Perhaps a bike? What's that you ask, something about billions in profits? So what else can I help you with?
Say look, before we get off on the wrong foot because you know we are trying our best to hold this new Global Market together, don't you know you are a severe cost item to this government? Look I perceive you have been rather casual about your life, getting into debt, oh, your job went off shore, oh well that happens. New emerging nations and best of all markets. Plenty of profit in that and who can fault us that is what investing is all about, profit. Well how much profit is enough? As much as one can glean. Oh you say the credit cards put you into trouble. Well why did you spend? I call it being personally irresponsible. Oh sickness, and you lost your job? Ok, but you didn't need to charge up a storm, we have help for you. Oh, there really isn't any. Oh, someone told us we had all kinds of help. Don't believe it you say? Why, been there, tried that. Oh, ok, got ya. Well anyway you know those credit card companies have to charge that usury just to make up for the potential losses they may have on people like you. Its only right you know and what is moral anyway these days? Oh your mom is elderly and sick and your having trouble making ends meet. Gee that is tough, you should have planned for it while you were younger. You child lost his job and you are support two families? hey there are plenty of jobs out there. Yes for $8.00 an hour. Hey they are jobs right? Can you live off of that?. Don't need to. If I need a raise I grant myself one. So why didn't you get insurance if your mom needed medicine? You know we have a great program for that. Oh, really, do you use it? No I have a private and government plan, no worries for me. You see I'm responsible. Oh and you said you did? I'm sorry I didn't hear that. So you did but the insurance company won't pay out. Oh, well I guess they have a good reason. We're really sorry, but we just have to cut back that medication we were paying for. Oh, you say we said we would help but never did. Oh well you know with all these low life's not paying their mortgages and looking for handouts and tax revenue down we have to cut somewhere. I know we committed to you but what better place then the needy? They are used to just getting along and let down and can handle it better.
Say, you just don't realize how many private investors profits are down? You know, like I said, if people were more personally responsible they would have had the coverage to take care of this medicine themselves and we wouldn't need this conversation. After all are we not all brothers and sisters in the Lord and we need to look out for all, you know, for the common good? Those companies need help as well you know. Then again what about the rest of the world, we need to worry about them you know, those new emerging markets. Now that is where the real money is.
Yes and by the way do you know how much it costs us for home health care? Ok, we will admit a lot cheaper then those health care facilities but hey those facilities need to make a profit and feed their families also. That's why we had to cut services for home health care. Also, we had to bail out a few investors and that was really cutting into available funds. Those people were really hurting you know with profits down almost 3% and we need to take care of our own you know. Then again with fuel prices high the vacations had to be trimmed to three or four a year. A damn shame you know. We love our fellow Americans and that is the least we could do as professed believers. So you need to realize that we could put you into a profit oriented facility and take care of you until you pass along. Ok, it, might be a lot faster there but hey, you've lived a full life and your way past what the bible says your entitled to anyway and you know we believe in the bible.
Ok, of course we promised to do what is right but hey that's just for the campaign. Everyone knows that is just talk don't they? Ok I'll give you some of them real old timers don't even know what day it is but hey, they are our meat and potatoes.
Oh you won't vote for me, well who cares, that 15% who turned out last night shored up the ticket and they are all our people. Pick one out, who cares, they are all the same you know. Yes, but seriously, you don't have, much of a future and you are getting up in years. We were thinking of sending all the people over 70 to Oregon. Now that's a cost effective state they are running there. They don't waste any funds trying to keep the walking dead alive.
Now that we've done some good things to protect our investors by passing all the risk onto the American public, the sooner you go the better. You won't have that worry in old age about a lot of defaults and us taking what little you have. We've already put that plan into motion. See we are always thinking about the common good of all, that is all of us who have of course.
So if your needy, being forced out of your home by foreclosure, not credit worthy, it is because you evidently are an irresponsible type who didn't take personal responsibility serious. Well we try to hurry things up. In fact if we can eliminate 50 million things would be a lot better for the rest of us. That is why we recognized that if cut in the right places it will expedite things and look at the bright side. We wouldn't have as much pollution, there would be more space for us all, we could import really cheap foreign workers and our costs would be rock bottom and our profits soar.
Yes it is a win for us all. The 15% of us who have and by the way isn't this amazing only 12% turned out to vote in Florida and it was light all over the nation. I guess only those of us who have voted? The retirement, government worker and health care crowd and of course those wise investor types who can smell a deal to be made. The rest, well retail workers but why kick there are plenty of jobs. Yes your worries are over and so are ours.
You know we are in the business of taking care of our own. Yet we realize this may offend some of you knowing the truth. So that is why it is all about perception and that is all we sell. Yes it is in the packaging just ask any marketing expert. Yes, so really give it a thought and by the way Can you please hurry up and Die.
