It is sad, but a very high percentage of our American population has had only a limited exposure to poetry, and as a result this form of communication and expression is very under used. In Russia, Japan and several other countries, top poets are as revered there as great singers or actors are here.

Give me a call I have something funny to share. You may be very interested in the story I placed today.

Wow... maybe some of us should move to Japan or Russia. Thanks for your comments. I'll be talking to you a little later today. It is now 4:30 am.

HI Mark,

Poetry is very beautiful, and I love to hear it. I agree with Jeff, not enough of the poetry written is heard by Americans.

I started writing for Search Wrap only recently, and I have used some of my poetry in articles, but I had no idea that a poem all by itself could be or should be used as an entry. I'll be looking into that. I have used lulu DOT com to self publish some stuff, including a book of poetry called Portrait of the Poet as a Wild Hare, because they don't charge for set up, only for the copies (it's a publish on demand business), but just sharing my work might be fun. I feel like Emily Dickinson would have used the web to share her stuff it had been around in her day.

Hi Tex,

Thanks for the info. I'll have to check that out. And, I think many poets and writers of past ages would have used sites like SearchWarp... just because.

I just found Searchwarp recently and have been putting my poetry online. I enjoy the comments from readers and find them encouraging. Not only Searchwarp, but I spread my poetry all through the internet wherever I can. I also have my own site where I have all my poetry, I believe over 600 poems now. Who knows, maybe some publisher somewhere will find that some of my stuff may actually be sellable; wouldn't that be great!
