A wedding budget is absolutely essential to planning your wedding, and one of the very first things you should do. This starting point fits with the general rule of the more guests, the more formal and lavish the wedding. Start off by using a wedding budget planning worksheet to figure out the basics. Manage your guest lists, budget and invitations.

The most important part of making a wedding memorable is focusing on and prioritizing what you want to achieve. Use a checklist when purchasing all of your wedding related goods and services.

Whether your family is footing the bill or you and your fiancé are financing everything down to the favors, learning how to work within your wedding budget is key.

Instantly see how changes in one area will affect costs in another. Start making notes of what you really want and what you can live without. It's cheaper, and it's often more meaningful to have had a hand in the preparations personally.

Compare your ideas, and compromise when necessary, to come up with a wedding you'll both love. Doing-it-yourself is not always as much cheaper as it used to be, but it still saves you labor charges, if you have creative talents and energy.
