Ladies and Gentlemen, I have to give Rudy Giuliani his due.
He has quite the future on the comedy club circuit.
Giuliani also resorted to the Republican Party standard - politics of fear at the 2008 Republican National Convention. Rudy loves to live off of September 11, 2001. He talked about Bin Laden, Islamic terrorism, and noted that there has not been a terrorist attack on American soil since that day.
Rudy, wait a minute. Running from the collapsing Twin Towers makes YOU the preeminent expert on terrorism? You have had your finger on Bin Laden's pulse since 9/11? You are qualified to pronounce any human being as ready to lead? Stop and take stock of yourself. If Rudy is such a great leader, where was he when the EPA, led by former New Jersey Gov. Christine Whitman, lied to rescue workers, residents of lower Manhattan, and all New Yorkers, when it came to air quality at Ground Zero?
Giuliani, the take no prisoners, maverick Mayor of New York City, allowed thousands of New Yorkers to be exposed to toxic dust to help with a federal coverup. Why, Rudy, why? The New York City Police Department, which helped him with his law and order campaign, had officers who were ordered to take off their heavy duty masks while guarding Ground Zero with its smoldering debris because "It didn't look good to the public". I defy anyone to tell me that did not happen. At this very moment, thousands have been sickened by this exposure, many are being monitored by health organizations, and many others have died.
We have to sit and watch Rudy at the Republican National Convention? He should be ashamed of himself, take his keynote speech, and go home. After all, he is there giving a speech because he lost to McCain in the primaries. Obama in a state of denial? No Rudy, it is you." Islamic Terrorism" was mentioned by "Fearless Rudy".There's the way to stoke the fires of patriotism. After all, if you disagree with the Iraq War supporters, you must be anti-America .I guess it's no problem to paint anyone who subscribes to Islam a "terrorist". Is "Islamic Terrorism" truly the biggest threat facing our country today?
Tell that to the millions of people that have lost their homes to foreclosure. Tell that to people who have to decide whether to pay household bills or buy food for their families. Tell that to people that want to work, and can not find a job. How about those who may not be able to heat their homes this winter? Maybe if you are a millionaire like Rudy, these issues don't matter. Terrorism is a problem, but we have many domestic issues that need to be solved, and not in a partisan manner.
I outlined some of what Giuliani has done in a previous article, "Rudy Giuliani, Republican Attack Dog - Are You Kidding?" Rudy is another who apparently is glad handing his way to a job in a potential McCain Administration. It just makes me ill to see what is happening. Stop telling me how safe I'm going to be under a McCain presidency, and tell me, once again, how do we get the country out of this mess that we are in? Rudy Giuliani, Great American Leader? No, Rudy Giuliani, Great American Hypocrite. Until next time.
