Hello Everyone,

Here I go again trying to put into words , a thought, I had after watching the speech of Sarah Palin on television last night.

I am a recovering mom of the "Supermom Club" of the seventies. I ran a business, raised two kids, went back to college to finish a degree and kept a house by myself. I ran from early morning to midnight everyday. As my children grew, I became a baseball and softball mom as well. Add on to this an active member of my small church.I think you can get the picture, life was busy.

I was one of millions of moms who did the same thing. We did it all.

I look to my past and think to myself that if I had to do it all over again, I would have done it the same but maybe just once in awhile, I would have asked for help. I needed a team of help that I did not know I needed until the years passed and I realized that I did not have to do it all alone. Many women my age of almost 60 years have realized the same thing.

We women years ago were flexing our wings of independence but we forgot that teamwork makes for a greater success because you have more people working on the same goals. I think many women my age felt after years of going it alone to prove that we could do everything ended it need ing only ourselves to solve any problem.

All this being said, I still believe in the power of the woman. Look to the past to see the strengths and resolve of millions of women who came before us . I applaud their success and equally note the injustices still raging around us.

I have learned that sharing is a very lovely tool in the success of a family. The supermoms of the seventies are still alive and well but we have learned a very valuable lesson along the way. We can do what we but it is nice to have the loving support of our families and friends to help us reach our goals .

I believe that Sarah Palin represents the new view of women and success. It is very clear to me that she is where she is because , she has had the loving support of her team, her family. I think her strength has surfaced in the face of the strength of her family. She has done it all because she has asked for help and this has pushed her farther in the goals she has set forth for herself and her family. Congratulations!

We older girls applaud you and you are doing it all and realizing you can accomplish more if you work as a team. I think learning to delegate, multi-tasking and staying cool under fire are strenghts that women practice every day.

We supermoms of the seventies are still here but we have learned to slow down and smell the roses with our loved ones ,

Sincerely,

nancy green

Wonderfully well-written article, Nancy. Great to see you back. I enjoyed this article tremendously. You managed to say it all with grace. Yes, we are still here and going strong. And you are absolutely right about Sarah Palin--she has my vote.

Hi Nancy, I love this article. I am a working mom, a bible teacher/speaker and a wife and... but I could never be all of this without the support of my family--especially my husband. Second only to my Lord Jesus, he is my rock. Thanks for sharing your wise perspective and reminding us gals that we don't have to go at it alone just to prove we can. Besides, I loved being pampered more than I like being in charge :-) God bless you. You did a fabulous job on this article! Teresa

Great article! It is sad that my generation (raising kids in the 21st century) is teaching our children to play indoors, play video games, the girls don't learn to cook (they can only shop), and the boys don't learn to play in the dirt, and we expect them to grow up and become what? I believe that is so important to teach our children GOD first, family second, and we, as parents can still multi-task and be successful parents! We need to DO MORE with our children! They need our time and love more than that new car or fancy house, or whatever it is as parents that we think we need or who we need to impress. Great job again! You are an amazing writer!! A+++
