A friend of mine has been writing music for quite some time now. Recently we started working on a duet that I have found to be absolute poetry. One more time the Lord has used music to draw me closer.

While we are not finished with our song, here is what we have to date. I thought I would share in hopes that it will touch someone's heart as is has mine.

Sunrise over the horizon

     Fountain of light in flames

As surely as the night fall

               A sunlit moon remains

You drew me a painted sky

                          If only I could frame

                              Created a billion stars

And call them all by name

Lord, I have my afflictions

I try to hide away my pain

            I cannot shield my sorrow

When my eyes begin to rain

                        At times – I dread,

The rest of the day remains

You raise me and hold me

                                             Deep in your bloodstains

I have gone over these lyrics many times and each time they touch my heart and bring tears to my eyes.

"For with Thee is the fountain of life: in Thy light shall we see light." Psalm 36:9 (NIV)

Wow! Beautiful--I can't wait to hear the song! What a gift. It reminds me of the old hymn 'Bloodstained Pages". I don't think I will ever fully comprehend the sacrifice my Lord made. Yes, I know I am a sinner, but until I see Him face to face and see his holiness, I will never truly know. And on that day, I will bow lower and truer than ever before. Lord bless you!! Thanks for sharing. I am blessed. And yes, our hearts were in tune this morning!

Hi Michelle, It seems to me that I read more words to the song than those that you have put here. It IS beautiful and glorifies God.

Thank you Mark! It is about the Glory of God and His son who shed His blood. And yes, there are more words, you will hear them later. :-)
